Fear is a drug, and there is a huge population that are addicted. It has been peddled from the highest office to the media, and the sudden stop of supply will leave many addicts hurting.
Look around at those who are saying things like "the unvaccinated shouldn't be allowed in hospitals!"
Just a couple years ago, they all had M4A in their bios.
What changed?
The fear. The addiction to fear.
Rather than proposing alternatives, they have landed on the side of cruelty, something they claim to oppose.
Why?
Because the fear that has been peddled to them, and their "proper" response to that fear, has put them in a position of supposed moral superiority.
The addiction to fear pushes people toward cruelty.
They want to withhold healthcare from people because "you didn't join me in my addiction."
They're angry at the people who refused to buy into the fear.
And now that the president has said there is no federal solution to COVID, the fear addiction inspired cruelty will escalate.
Now that the CDC is revising guidance based on whims, the fear addiction inspired cruelty will be more prominent.
Why do you think that it's only been recently that some blue checks and popular accounts have been pushing "vaxports to fly"?
It's not a logical rule, especially at this point.
It's not a health push, especially with Omicron.
So why now?
Because cruelty is the point.
Read the comments of the fear addicted.
They're talking cruelty based on moral superiority.
"THOSE people shouldn't be allowed around US because WE did the right thing and THEY did not."
"The unvaxxed shouldn't be allowed in restaurants or stores or on trains or taxis. They must pay for their decision to not be vaccinated."
Excuse me, but where is the science supporting this?
Unvaccinated people don't spread COVID.
Vaccinated people don't spread COVID.
You know who does?
Infected people. Sick people.
And both the vaxxed and unvaxxed can be infected and/or sick.
Banning the unvaxxed from airlines or trains or hospitals will not stop COVID.
So why would anyone at this point push for vaccine passports?
Cruelty.
Yes, some of those pushers of cruelty are naturally cruel. Eric Swalwell, Tom Nichols, Jen Rubin... they tend toward cruelty because that is who they are.
But some of the cruel posters? It is simply a reaction to the addiction to fear.
It would be nice to think that they will wake up and start asking questions, now that the official line is starting to look like "cases aren't important, only the really sick and dying" (something that has been true since the beginning).
But eliminating case counts reduces the fear drug.
And most addicts don't suddenly decide they've been wrong when there is a shortage of their poison of choice.

The party of F Trump is suddenly concerned about acting Christian, family values, and vulgarity.
You don't like LGB? Then admit it's because it's "your guy". Don't hide behind "they're not living up to their values" when they start living by yours.
I do find the attempts at reclaiming LGB to be the most hilarious though.
"Brandon won!"
Brandon means..."
"Yes, Let's Go, Brandon because Biden is doing great!"
Men, imagine that for 24 hours, there were no women in the world.
No women are being harmed in the creation of this hypothetical. They will all return. They are safe and happy wherever they are during this hypothetical time period.
See, she likes to play this game that men are primarily responsible for women feeling unsafe and so if men disappear, women would be safe to do whatever they want.
We all know it’s bullcrap but still she plays this game.
“Take a walk downtown at night without looking over my shoulder.”
First, it’s not men’s fault you choose to live in a big city crime hole.
Second, men look over their shoulder all the time, day or night.
