Two days before #RoyButler was given Janssen/J&J vaccine, a letter from Dr Lucy Jessop of the HSE’s National Immunisation Office was sent to GPs & Pharmacists instructing that Janssen vaccines be removed from fridges and returned.

This NIO letter was a result of EMA Pharmacovigilance Committee report adding Guillain-Barré syndrome & ITP to the Janssen product information as "rare" side effects. EMA report was published on Aug 11th.

Friday 13th Aug:
Roy Butler, 23, administered Janssen shot.

Sunday 15th Aug:
As Roy Butler was lying in a coma in hospital, HSE head Paul Reid announces deliveries of Janssen would cease.

Tuesday 17th Aug:
Roy Butler dies 5 days after receiving Janssen shot.
Although cause of death is irrefutable, Irish media omit details in reporting footballer's death.
Still no word on autopsy report as we enter 2022.

Unlike other countries, Irish Drug Safety authorities waited for EMA signal before taking action on Janssen - this cost a 4 month delay.
As early as April & May US & EU countries dropped Janssen from vax rollout:
13/April - U.S.
3/May - Denmark
26/May - Belgium

At this late stage, months after other countries dumped Janssen amid blood-clot related deaths, @DonnellyStephen decides to plough ahead and targets 18-34 age group.

Finally, 2 days after NIO 'stop using Janssen' instruction was emailed to Pharmacists/GPs, why was it still being used on Roy Butler?
Was the letter ignored in order not to "waste" stock?
