The many, many imagined plots against PM and CM Narendra Modi with real-life consequences on citizens:

2018: In Aug, 5 activists incl Sudha Bharadwaj were arrested for Bhima-Koregaon violence 'coz there was an anti-fascist plot to overthrow the government
June: 5 activists, incl Rona Wilson, were arrested in same case & Pune pol claimed to find a letter on Wilson's laptop detailing an assassination attempt & to target Modi during roadshows.

No evidence was given
May 2018: Before Karnataka polls, there was claim that there was a sinister conspiracy hatched in Surat by Islamist radicals to target Modi.
It was apparently based on a WA message and reportedly Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad filed a chargesheet in Ankleshwar.

No status of case
2017: In June, Kerala DGP TP Senkumar claimed PM Modi faced terrorist threat during his visit to Kochi to flag off the city's new metro rail.

The DGP claimed there was a terror module here during his visit, but as is usual he could not elaborate.
February 2017: Just before #UPElections, Mau SP RK Singh claimed that they had been informed about PM's cavalcade under threat of attack with rocket launchers, explosives
2016: In November, just after demonetisation, the Delhi Police reported to have got a call about an alleged plot to kill the prime minister. It ended up being a cat-and-mouse game to understand who used the SIM card in question.

A special cell is still investigating the case.
2015: In May, a year after coming to power, Modi was set to speak at a rally in Mathura, but a night before his speech it was reported that UP Police got a WA message about threat to kill Modi.

It was sent by Ramvir, and his brother Laxman Singh. No info on if he was arrested.
October 2013: 6 persons were killed & 89 injured when a series of blasts rocked then Gujarat CM Modi's Hunkaar in Patna.

NIA claimed the banned SIMI was behind the attack in the supp chargesheet filed in the case in April 2014.

In Oct 2017, a juvenile was convicted for it.
2005: Gujarat Police claimed Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kauser Bi were planning to kill Modi. They were shot dead along with associate Tulsiram at a farmhouse in Ahmedabad.

CBI chargesheet said it was a staged encounter. Police officer DG Vanzara was involved
2004: Ishrat Jahan, Javed Ghulam Sheikh, Amjad Ali Rana and Zeeshan Johar were shot dead by Gujarat Crime Brach 'coz allegedly they were going to assassinate CM Modi for 2002 riots.

In 2009, a magistrate called them extra-judicial killings. DG Vanzara was involved here too.
These are the number of times the govt has claimed a threat to Modi's life and almost all of them around the time of elections or when he was in a crisis.

#mustread The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has spent Rs 293 crore on advertisement in TV channels, newspapers and radio during the pandemic year 2020-21. This is Rs 93.2 crore more than what it spent in 2019-20.
There has been a 2,500% increase from the ad spend in 2012-13, when the Congress-led Delhi government under Sheila Dixit spent only ₹11.18 crore on advertisements. The Kejriwal government has spent approximately ₹805 crore on advertisements ever since he came to power in 2015.
This information has come to light in responses to queries sought under the RTI Act by rights activist @Kanhaiyablogs.

However, these numbers are much lower than what the Delhi government has mentioned in their budget documents.

#MustRead: The recently released financial statement of PM’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the financial year 2019-20 has revealed that the govt invested Rs 250 crore in Yes Bank Fixed Deposit Receipts even though the RBI had flagged concerns about the bank in 2018.
The investment was more than the Rs 222 cr that the Union govt gave as relief in the year which saw Covid-19, Cyclone Fani and severe floods.
This has raised concerns that Modi govt has converted the PMNRF into a corporate bailout vehicle instead of providing relief.
The investment in Yes Bank was done even though in the beginning of 2019, the RBI had put a moratorium on the bank and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had stated that the central bank had been monitoring the Yes Bank since 2017.

For all those wondering what this famed toolkit that @GretaThunberg has uploaded is nothing but how to organise protests.

Go through the entire toolkit which is at the centre of sedition & criminal conspiracy charges.

It will take a genius to find its criminality ImageImageImageImage
The doc explains the protests, asks people to call MPs, sign petitions, upload videos, and organise on-ground action.

They have asked people to READ and join

In case of farmers protests, on-ground protests began before Twitter folk began to pay attention to these issues ImageImageImageImage
This ‘criminal’ toolkit is asking people to organise solidarity protests, ask questions and tag all those who are answerable.

The hashtag #FarmersProtest that it has mentioned has been trending for 3 months now ImageImageImageImage

LDF-UDF:

Why did Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan (PV) say what he did about IUML?

Even in 2016 when LDF won, @iumlofficial /UDF won 18 seats from Malabar/North Kerala area. Note that LDF has only 9 Muslim names within its list of MLAs.
PV has always been attempting to break the UDF-IUML unity and influence in North Kerala region.

As the CPM secretary, he attempted to split the votes by supporting Madani, Indian National League (a breakaway faction of IUML), KT Jaleel (an ind).

Madani is now in jail.
Don’t believe? In 2009, the LDF candidate in Ponnani was Madani nominee – Hussian Randathani. He lost to ET Muhammed Basheer.

#Important

Months ago a WhatsApp link was circulated in Kerala and its stated mission was - One India, One Pension. Each senior citizen would get Rs 10,000 pm

The message asked them to join a WA group.
This message was targeted at people above 55, including my parents.
Many people like my parents, who have mostly lived in Kerala, where the Govt works decently, believed ‘One India, One Pension’ is possible.

They said that other countries have it, so why not? True. Why not?

But Kerala is not India. India is not Scandinavia.
Being a journalist and having known of similar groups in other states, I warned them that this is a BJP/RSS-funded group.

They refused to believe that it could be BJP/RSS backed. I told them that they will begin to propagate soft BJP opinions closer to elections.

A thread: Today as PM Modi addressed the 90th b'day celebrations of Rev Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan of the Marthoma Church, a student decided to protest and resign from the church.

She wrote a letter critical of the misogyny in church, PM invite

Reproducing the letter below
I have been officially a member of Mar Thoma Church ever since my baptism at 4 months of age. This church gave me the confidence to stand and speak on public podiums; introduced me to music through church choir; taught me morals and inspired me to follow Christ and his ways.
This same church asked me to cover my head when I was 14 because I was a woman. At the age of 18 when I decided that I will not adhere to this tradition, I was mocked by the church members. They yelled at the Church vicar who supported my decision.
