The Histrionics and Melodrama Around 1/6 Are Laughable, but They Serve Several Key Purposes

I had forgotten until I wrote this article today that the Huffington Post's WH reporter, @SVDate, said that it was outrageous to compare 9/11 to 1/6 -- because 1/6 was "1,000 percent worse."

That 2 of the US's largest social media giants actively censored reporting about the Biden family based on genuine documents 3 weeks before the election is one of the most alarming cases in years, but most media outlets *supported* the censorship because it helped Biden. If not:
But the most overlooked component of this scandal the media role. They all enabled this censorship by spreading and ratifying the outright lie from CIA and other intel officials that these docs were "Russian disinformation."

Once that was disproven, they never acknowledged it.
To this day, you can go to most major outlets -- NBC News, NYT, CNN, Atlantic, almost all of them -- and find the CIA lie that the Biden docs were Russian disinformation. Even once a book by a POLITICO reporter proved they were real, those outlets ignored that and left that lie.

Really enjoyed this 20-minute discussion with @krystalball and @esaagar on the one-year anniversary of 1/6 and how it is exploited and for what purposes.

Platforms that allow in-depth discussion, reach large audiences and remain independent are crucial.

(By the way: since Breaking Points is a program on which I often appear, and frequently appeared on their prior program, is it safe and fair to assume that I share all of the ideological views of its hosts and am responsible for all their pronouncements whether I'm there or not?)
Speaking of platforms enabling very large audiences to be reached while remaining independent: the views for our Rumble video reports, after just 3 months, are very high and rapidly growing. It's true of Rumble as a whole, hence the wave of media attacks on it as it grows more. ImageImage

They did the same thing during the entire Trump presidency, only then it was all about Russia and the Kremlin and how Trump was being controlled by Putin through clandestine blackmail (remember all that? lol).

If you have no governing program, fear is the only thing to use.
It happens all around the world. A party in power that feels it can't persuade voters to support them and win elections based on policy instead tries to convert their opposition into criminals rather than adversaries, and then censor and prosecute them in lieu of winning.
The #TreasonSummit when Trump went to Helsinki may have been the single dumbest thing I've ever seen in politics: huge numbers of Dems in media and politics working themselves up into a hysterical frenzy, led by their former CIA Director, now at NBC News:

Australian officials have been flamboyantly insisting they will bar tennis players from their country unless they are vaccinated or have a medical excuse.

Magically, the steadfastly unvaccinated Novak Djokovic - one of the planet's fittest athletes - qualifies for an exemption!
Several unvaccinated players who aren't as valuable economically to Australia and the Australian Open as Djokovic were forced to withdraw from the tournament.

What great luck that the world #1 has some grave medical condition as he wins Grand Slams!

It's almost like these rules are bullshit theater unrelated to the public health and therefore can be manipulated or ignored whenever it suits one with money or power: like the team of masked servants AOC had as she was groomed, unmasked, for the Met Gala

A journalist who worked at @CBC quits after 8 years, citing the repressive environment where liberal-left ideology and woke pieties dictate "reporting"and bar all dissent. She's going to Substack to do journalism without those constraints. When will people realize the crisis?
This isn't some right-wing journalist. She was long among the most left-wing. But the climate changed overnight.

This happened in newsrooms across the West. It's easy to dismiss and mock it if your ideology (liberalism) is the dominant one, but it's a major threat to journalism.
When corporate outlets tout the rigors of their "editorial process," all they mean is they scrub articles for anything that contravene establishment liberalism. Some manage to do good reporting there, but most outlets are just activist machines for Western left-liberal ideology.
