A person who wanted to improve the world came once to jagadguru sri sri chandrasekara bharathi mahaswamigaL and explained his plans for the world. Sri AcharyaL listened patiently. Then..
SA: You are saying many things. Won't it be difficult to implement? Forget funds don't you 1/
need people? They have to be dharmic. They have to be educated. They have to practitioners of AcAra. They should be able to communicate in a way that people understand
Devotee: i am happy to start this first
SA: oh! Very good. Do you have time to be involved in this?
D: i have
enough to eat and live. My son will take care of my wealth. I am prepared to spend the rest of my life on this task
SA: have u studied Sanskrit?
D: yes
SA: how much?
D: i have read the kaavyaa raghuvamsam kumArasambhavam and mAgam
SA: Have u studied tarka or grammar?
D: no
SA:
vedanta prakaraNa?
D: a bit of vAsudevI mananam and viveka choodAmaNi
SA: you tell me that you don't have no worries about family and have plenty of time. It is evident that you have deep interest in our religion. Why not use this luxury and time to learn more? You can do many
karmAnuStAnas and achieve Sreyas? When you have the need and opportunity to improve yourself instead of concentrating on that why embark into other's sphere?

Also if you try to influence others wont they enquire how much you are practicing what your intend to preach?

Will your
upadeSa be imprinted in their mind? Only after changing ourselves - shouldn't we start trying to change others?

There is a nyAya: Can a person who does not have the strength to swim across the river help others do the same?

Therefore make efforts to search for your kSema.
It is fit that everyone tries to take care of their adhyAtmika Sreyas.

The society is a group of individuals. If each person practices his swadharma and makes effort to remove his ajnAna that will lead to progress of society.

If everyone tries to preach to others not only
Is it useless it will also lead to unnecessary misunderstandings . Society will lose peace. Sri Sankara asks - who is more foolish than one who is incompetent in his own work?

We have limited life. To emancipate ourselves itself it takes so many janmaas.
It is neither just nor feasible to emancipate others. The only outcome will be the destruction of our progress

To continue..
Contd..
In addition to think that people will listen to us is itself wrong. Each persons pUrva janma vaasana will be different. By observing our actions people may change. If we do not follow the path of righteousness there is a chance that people may choose the wrong path
because of us. We must be careful. In addition if someone has earned repute in a family community or nation then his responsibility is greater. In politics one can change people's outlook by arranging meetings. This is not fruitful in adhyAtma. If u want a 100 people to pull a
chariot you can call a crowd. To satiate hunger calling for a crowd is futile. Only those who are hungry will come. Even then they have to eat alone. Similarly in matters of adhyAtma the hungry may seek help of ways to satiate the hunger but after they find out the way they have
to satiate it themselves. Those who have adhyaatma hunger will seek their guide themselves. Bringing together those who do not have that hunger is a futile exercise. Therefore
It is said
नापऌष्टः कस्यचित् ब्रूयात्।
Do not tell unless asked

The method of asking will indicate if
it is for a fashion or hunger.
The way to ask
तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया
Prostrate well do seva and learn by repeatedly asking

Is indicated in the gItA.

Therefore it is nyAya that based on ones hunger and credibility each one has to search and bring to practice

The balustrades of darasuram are indeed iconic - the idea seemed to be to provide the effect of a ratha while retaining all the components of an agamic temple Image
This is the elephant in the southern entrance ImageImage
The wheels are not monolithic but made with multiple stones - look at the alignment. The horse a victim of the southern onslaught of the Delhi sultanate ImageImageImage

On the left is a Sivalinga - the square base represents Brahma the octagon Vishnu (both are unseen when installed ). The cholas tried to do that by creating an inner and outer corridor and aligning the stones to create a progression in the vimana. In the brahadeeswara at ImageImage
the octagon was not acheived tapering squares leading to a circle (better viewed from inside at different levels). They achieved it in GKC... So the look of the tapering structure from outside. Inside each level is a transition from the square to an octagon to a circle. The
taper that u see in gkc is because of the additional attemtpt to get the vishnu piece in. This leads to the comparison that Brh is a male structure while GKC is a more feminine grace structure. When you look from the outside it would appear that the vimana is filled in. It's not Image
