this conspiracy theory makes “9/11 was an inside job” look simple and rational in comparison
a big part of why MAGA openly embraced q anon is their way of thinking unlocks the ability to get people to believe literally anything you want, often in conflict with another thing you need them to believe, with absolutely no cognitive dissonance. it’s a zero-truth culture.
you can shoot the truth people believe most dearly and sincerely straight in the head, give them a new sincere truth, and nobody blinks an eye. donald trump can be jesus christ reborn in the morning, an evil lizard person at lunch, and a god king again before happy hour.
the only unbreakable rule is the show must go on

a year ago the “reasonable” people running cover for trump -he’s not as bad as they say! he’s a moron but the media! don’t like him but he owns the libs!- yet again claimed to be horrified by the results of their work, and yet again returned straight back to running cover for him
the “reasonable” people are so angry at the media and the libs all the time because they know their weakness and are embarrassed. they know they’ll once again be summarily shoved back out of the way the next time the open fascists sense an opportunity

so -this is all very, very, very speculative but- tucker claimed to have a cache of documents stolen from the infamous hunter laptop, then the docs “went missing”, for which he blamed UPS, but almost instantly “reappeared”, after which tucker didn’t want to talk about it anymore
