2 separate leaving parties merging into one as the night wore on.
Someone was sent to the Co-op on the Strand, a busy street nearby, with a suitcase which was then filled with bottles of wine and brought back to Downing Street, according to one person at the gathering that night
The parade of cabinet ministers trying to bang the Sue Gray drum is looking increasingly tone deaf - even within the Tory Party.
It will have damaged them all.
They did not read the room at all.
Again.
As with Paterson.
Doesn’t say much about the Sun as reporters does it?
They can’t even scoop a story when one of their own was at the centre of one and present at others (eg 15 May 2020 Cheese and Wine)….and has contacts and inside knowledge like no other.
Should be sacked, really.
All that Queen and Country stuff they churn out looks decidedly fake doesn’t it?
Talking about investigations.
That suitcase full of booze.
That would have to be checked by police as it was brought into Number 10, wouldn’t it? Unless they deliberately chose not to look.
Those Super sleuths in the Met in action.
Gives you confidence, no?
Dick’s going to have to resign.
No credibility left and she is making the job of the working copper a hundred more times more difficult.
It seems the combined forces of the Met, MI5 and MI6, not to mention both Johnson and Sunak actually LIVING and WORKING at the premises were unable to detect and endless stream of parties, suitcases of booze, rocking into the night under their very noses
Got to say I think the “priming” of Sue Gray’s report to try and head off Johnson’s collapse is I’ll judged in many ways.
Quite wrong in principle.
More party stories will emerge. They’ll all look dumb and corrupt.
And the members won’t like it.
The stink.
I simply don’t believe that the various security details said nothing about these stream of events to their chain of command. I don’t believe that they did not seek advice on how to respond.
I know how the police work. And gossip amongst themselves. At the highest level.
They all knew. They made an expedient CHOICE.
And CHOSE to turn a blind eye to the privileged whilst prosecuting those unprivileged - and a great deal poorer- to the hilt.
Without Dick or a delegate having a wise word with the PM and Sunak explaining this had to end as it destroyed trust in both Government and Police - quite apart from the sheer public health hypocrisy?
Really?
Not even a wise word in their ear explaining they would have to be seen to act if they did not desist?
How many got Covid? And passed it on? How much did they contribute to the whole public health disaster?
The whole thing is a security and public health risk whichever way you look at it.
The whole shower of shenanigans.
Staff, Government, police, security services.
No trust
No respect
No wisdom
No statecraft
No honesty
No integrity
No truth
No sense
No decency
The rules apply to everyone be they ever so high.
Especially if they created the rules in the first place.
And have to be seen to be applied to all even handedly.
Be they ever so high as well.
The oath every officer took
“I do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly service the Queen in the office of constable, with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, upholding fundamental human rights and according equal respect to all people;
“and that I will, to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and preserved and prevent all offences against people and property;
“and that while I continue to hold the said office I will to the best of my skill and knowledge discharge all the duties thereof faithfully according to law"
It looks as if is due to change (BREXITTY FAKERY) but this is the oath they took.
Really?
They think they were serving THE QUEEN well as she prepared for her husband’s funeral?
Her citizens?
Ruling by consent involves both sides adhering to the law.
IT WAS A PARTY. With booze. Music. Into the early hours of the day of Prince Philips’s funeral.
And ‘Enemy Of The People’ Slack would not have hesitated to plaster such a party all over the Sun or Mail with outraged faux patriot headlines were it in Labour or Lib Dem HQ.
They are all dragging ALL the institutions of State in which we need to trust down with them. Johnson. Sunak (living in No 10, working in No 11), the Spads, the PPS, Sue Gray, the Ministers and MPs, who have protected them, Dick, the Met.
They are damaging the relationship between citizens and the State with their capricious, unfair, ILLEGAL and entitled conduct.
I fear they have damaged it beyond repair. And NOT ONE OF THEM is showing any sign whatsoever of understanding the gravity of what they have all done
Are you a Tory voter who is a Justice of the Peace.
Every time you sit in judgement on others YOU are a bloody hypocrite if you a,low this outrage to continue ONE MORE DAY.
And that applies to the whole shitshower of a cabinet too who has stood guard.
They all must go.
Look at him today.
HOW DARE HE?
How dare YOU all allow this dishonest shill represent our country for one more day?
“Or perhaps my career began earlier, with the Javid brothers’ crime-busting gang. Our gang had just two members, Sajid and me, and back when we were still in primary school we’d circle the neighbourhood on our bikes, communicating by walkie-talkie, looking for crimes to report”‼️
Bas Javid is Savid Javid’s younger brother.
Touring the neighbourhood looking for crimes to report and they can’t report crimes occurring under their noses by the highest in office. Some Professional Standard.
Downing Street Staff Feel Dejected By Johnson’s Party Defence
Got to say were I a CS observing Johnson’s cowardly response and efforts to deflect I’d go out of my way to sink him in it revealing the numerous words and deeds of his demonstrating collusion politicshome.com/news/article/d…
If Sue Gray throws the junior (or even senior personnel) under the bus whilst even appearing to provide a shield for Johnson, why would not they throw the lot of them including Johnson under a bus in return?
If he set the tone and condoned it why should he be protected?
I’m not suggesting that any should be excused responsibility for their actions.
But the permissions start at the top.
A good leader would make it plain what was unacceptable sharply.
But when he joins in and does it too (inc in their own home) that IS the message.
Covid restrictions had a knock on benefit in significantly reducing 🏥 admissions of 👦 with regard to other childhood illness + a corresponding reduction in deaths.
Especially marked re flu, bronchiolitis, meningitis, mumps and measles.
There should be a very very special punishment for Prime Ministers who presided over the culture who does this. Incapable of taking responsibility. He thinks it is kicking everyone else. Except his own sorry arse.
Just kick him out. Every day is a day that says the Tory Party colludes with this sorry sack of a man.
“The blueprint includes a drive to work out which heads should roll following the publication of senior official Sue Gray’s findings, as well as highlighting the prime minister’s achievements, according to sources. Officials have also started using the codename”
“I am asking you if we can make an early call to palliate and discharge her from ICU.”
“When?”
“Now.”
My disbelief must be open because it prompts the rueful explanation that a Covid patient needs an intensive care bed.”
“The pieces fall together instantly. With intensive care at capacity, I am being asked to move my patient to make room for another. “After all, your patient does have incurable cancer.”
That being so, why did not someone such as Dick go to the PM & PPS and have a tactful word early on eg “You really cannot do this as we would, in fairness, be forced to intervene to uphold the laws you passed even handedly”
Did she (or a DAC Protection and Security) not do that
We know these parties were still going on months later.
What were the private conversations between police officers on duty, their senior officers to whom they report and those at the very top?
MI5 send urgent email to MPs warning about Chinese woman
Christine Lee has been engaged in political interference activities on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party, engaging with MPs & associated political entities, inc the APPG: Chinese in Britain dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
'I should highlight the fact that Lee has facilitated financial donations to serving and aspiring Parliamentarians on behalf of foreign nationals based in Hong Kong & China
'This facilitation was done covertly to mask the origins of the payments.’
So which MPs were hoodwinked?
H/t @iamdarrellmills for this article actually mentioning Christine Lee. It seems awfully old (3 years) to be the object of the current statement.
But the reference was to MPs (plural) so who else has Chinese interests?
