As a parent and a citizen, I am very alarmed by what is happening in Ontario.
Our CMOH has sanctioned the re-opening of schools during a time when they are less safe than ever.
I thought the CMOH was there to protect us from harm, to operate within the highest integrity,
upholding the ethics of their profession at all times, irrespective of political opinion or persuasion.
I was naïve.
“The Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) reports directly to the Deputy Minister of Health.”
publichealthontario.ca/en/about/blog/…
But how is 1 public health officer allowed to operate without any checks and balances? Oh wait – there are local checks and balances, but they are not being exercised at present.
ontario.ca/laws/statute/9…
Order by M.O.H. re communicable disease
22 (1) A medical officer of health, in the circumstances mentioned in subsection (2), by a written order may require a person to take or to refrain from taking any action that is specified in the order in respect of a communicable disease. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.7, s. 22 (1).
(2) A medical officer of health may make an order under subsection (1) if he or she is of the opinion, upon reasonable and probable grounds, that an outbreak of a communicable disease exists or may exist at the public hospital or institution, and that the communicable disease
presents a risk to the health of persons in the public hospital or institution, and that the measures specified in the order are necessary in order to decrease or eliminate the risks to health associated with the outbreak. 2007, c. 10, Sched. F, s. 6.
Ministry of Labour defers to CMOH – so work refusals are not held up & Ontarians must work in unsafe conditions with an airborne contagion.

Ministry of Education defers to CMOH – so school boards must step in line or deeper funding cuts and penalties.
I find it interesting that any of these behaviours would be cause for termination for the average Ontarian, yet public health officers DOCTORs have engaged in them:
•Errors of omission - that #CovidisAirborne, it hangs like smoke and #N95s4All & ventilation are the best defense
& sowing doubt not confidence into the minds of parents about the benefits of vaccine and inclusion of it as mandatory (like 9 other ones are – also requested by Toronto’s CMOH)
•Lack of candor – Saying 1. Covid isn’t mild, 2. A RAT will be accepted as evidence of disability.
WRONG on both accounts, and he knows it.
* Willful negligence – Leading children and teachers into harm without proper mitigations during the worst wave. This is reckless endangerment.

Any medical doctor’s primary obligation is to their patients – the people under their care (aka Ontarians, which INCLUDES children!)
I expect Drs to uphold their oath, prevent further tragedy, & lead us into recovery.

Here are a few excerpts from the modern-day version:

I will remember that there is an art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may
outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.
I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.
I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a
sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.
I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.
I will remember that
I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.
If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter.
May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

Doctors in Canada have a Code of Ethics that includes the virtues of compassion, honesty, integrity, humility, prudence, as well as a commitment to the well-being of the patient, respect for persons, and social justice.

Medical doctors & pediatricians with privilege or conservator donorship hide and conflate information about youth and mental health. Why don’t you seek opinions & research from youth psychiatrists and suicidologists?
Some doctors calling for in-person learning in crowded classrooms and maskless eating are those who refuse to see patients in person because of the personal threat of Covid. They are not following the CPSO statement on standards of care cpso.on.ca/en/News/COVID-…
Children have human rights, too. They have the right to education, free from a known communicable disease, one that might permanently disable them.

“Your relationship with your doctor may be one of the most important in your life...that relationship can become strained when you have concerns about your doctor’s competence or behaviour. If you’ve had a worrisome encounter with an Ontario doctor, we’re here to help.” @cpso_ca
Parents shouldn’t have to research #longcovid. You have clear evidence from other countries as well as our own – despite attempts to hide it. #countlongcovid
Just because something is daunting or costly, doesn’t mean you avoid it. Not talking about it doesn’t make it any less real. It’s very real for those experiencing it, and the thousands+ more who will.
See my thread about the problems of lack of PCR testing and obtaining disability coverage, holding them hostage for care and remuneration, creating 2-tier health care & further widening the gap between rich and poor.
In the unsafe reopening of schools, the province is gaslighting parents, not empowering them. The CMOH is wilfully leading children and educators into harm’s way.

You know this.

In standing by, doing nothing, saying nothing, you are complicit.

And we will not forget.
Years later, our children will not forgive you.

History will frown upon you.

It’s not too late for integrity and courageous leadership.

It’s not too late to do the right thing.
*Lack of candor in saying Covid is mild when it isn't - I think the mildly disabled and mildly dead would agree with me.

The Ontario govt has failed us. There are a few options to halt our mass infection by Omicron: 1) Local public health officers display some courage & order school closures 2) Fed govt enacts Emergencies Act or exerts considerably more pressure 3) Workers refuse unsafe work.
@Sflecce and Dr. Moore have not empowered us. They have gaslighted us.
Empowerment: The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.
Gaslighting: Covert emotional abuse where the abuser misleads the target creating a false narrative & making them question their judgments & reality.

This article, Written by Howard Levitt, the best known and most widely quoted authority on employment law in Canada, is a MUST READ.
financialpost.com/fp-work/insure…
“Insurance companies look for any way they can to deny or cut short a claim: that is how they make money. In the case of COVID-related disability claims, insurers are frequently denying claims due to insufficient medical evidence, for example, the lack of a positive COVID-19 test
Levitt: “According to the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, roughly 10 per cent of those who become infected with the virus become long-haulers.”

“Many Canadians despair of ever regaining the lives they lived before contracting COVID-19.”

This post is for the millions of Ontarians who will contract Covid and be in need of financial & medical assistance.
To the #longcovid deniers, you’re simply wrong and you will be sorry. We have the receipts.
Some call this fear-mongering; I call it being realistic.

To those pragmatists out there, dismissing the need for accurate covid testing, you’re missing some vital information and giving bad advice.

I hope you’re wrong. I don’t think I am.
PCR testing is limited. CMOH says to use a RAT or get a $75 antibody test, wh/ requires Dr requisition, & may be problematic if vaccinated (wh/ most of us are). DR. MOORE HAS TAKEN AWAY OUR FREE ACCESS TO ACCURATE PCR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
