I've heard more vitriol directed @ VP for telling people they can Google testing sites than Ron DeSantis got for letting 1 MILLION covid tests expire during the Omicron surge & refusing to open state sites. Homegirl ⬇️ said nothing about that but called VP wicked. A few things 🧵
The admin has already conceded more needed to be done on testing AND they have done exactly that. Also even before Omicron, they already invested $1 billion in at-home testing capacity. States also have a responsibility for scaling up testing.
Testing wait times are longer not because VP wickedly refuses to wave her magic pinky, it's because we are dealing with astronomical surge of cases. The daily avg is 800K new cases with a positivity rate>30%. Labs don't have the capacity to turn results around quicker (see ⬇️)
Now to the point of her saying Google testing locations (which Biden has also been saying to much less fanfare)...I did an experiment. I looked at her most quote tweeted specific site mention 106 vs. Google 1,423. Unless it's something to be hateful & btich about y'all DGAF.
The last point about internet access, that is something VP Harris has always championed that y'all love to ignore. She was literally put in charge of & successfully got $100 billion in broadband investment. The notion that she is oblivious to internet access issues is absurd.
Please admit y'all just want to always find a reason to drag VP cuz the math ain't mathin with the it's bad to tell people they can use Google from people who frequently tell people to use Google. 🤔🤔🤔
And to be clear this isn't a *there's nothing they could do better* thread but using her response about testing as a pretext to paint VP as evil is fcuking deranged behavior. And y'all neeeeever have the same smoke for the electeds actually trying to harm people.

There are a lot of really good ideas AND tangible actions coming from the Dems in response to Roe v. Wade. The problems are: only 3 pols ever go viral, *ideas* grab more attention than *actions*, people are sick of cliché platitudes, too much deference to institutions/norms. 1/
It's political malpractice Dems had the benefit of an unprecedented SCOTUS leak back in May yet were caught flat-footed when the decision came down. So what can be done? More messengers delivering a cohesive impactful message. Soundbites>Fact Sheets. Keep It Simple Stupid! 2/
The WH announced several critical actions- GOOD. Biden won't come out for a filibuster carve-out-BAD. It hamstrings VP & gives the MSM a bone to pick. The deflection/word salads look weak & unwilling to take a stand. Inevitably he'll come out for a carve out so just do it NOW! 3/
Hey y'all! It is an exciting day at the White House as President Biden & VP Kamala Harris welcome Team USA (summer & winter Olympics)! But first I'm on hand to cover a Black Community Stakeholders Call with Black Olympians. More to follow...
Trey Baker, Senior Advisor for Public Engagement, kicks off the Black Community Stakeholders Call with Wesley Williams, guide for Paralympic sprinter Lex Gillette. Gillette has 5 silver medals in the Long Jump.
The other athletes slated to join the call were intercepted by VP, so hopefully Wesley Williams gets closer to meeting her than this picture.
PS- He has already met President Biden before on his previous trips to the White House.
Hey y'all! I'm reporting Live from the White House for the #JusticeKetanjiBrownJackson celebration. We are expecting remarks from POTUS, VP #KamalaHarris and the woman of the hour. Stay tuned for my updates!
The atmosphere is jubilant for the Judge #KetanjiBrownJackson#SCOTUS celebration on the South Lawn. Lots of group selfies & hugs. Spotted: Rev Al, Leader Schumer, Administrator Regan, Sec Fudge, lots of CBC members, civil rights & political leaders from Higher Heights and more.
Hey y'all! Guess who is reporting from the White House #BlackHistoryMonth event?! Stay tuned directly updates!
Full house today at the White House #BlackHistoryMonth celebration. Lots of hugs and elbow bumps like a family reunion. So far I spotted at least a dozen CBC lawmakers, Rev. Al, Rev Jesse Jackson Jr, Star Jones, Divine 9 leadership and civil rights leaders.
Before the program starts, I'm sneaking in a selfie. We're expecting POTUS, VP #KamalaHarris and more to speak. #BlackHistoryMonth
I see there is a sudden renewed interest in anti-lynching legislation as opposed to mostly crickets last year when Rand Klan Paul filibustered it. Here's a quick thread on where it stands for people who are afraid Juneteenth is distracting from getting it passed ⬇️
Last year's George Floyd #JusticeInPolicing Act included #MVPHarris' Justice for Lynching Victims Act (JFVLA), but it was taken out in this session. The JFLVA is still in the Republicans JUSTICE Act. The House has 2 bills & the Senate has 1 that are still in committees.
In the House, the Emmett Till and Will Brown Justice for Victims of Lynching Act of 2021 is identical to the Senate bill introduced by then Sen #KamalaHarris & co-sponsored by Sen Booker that passed unanimously in the Sen 2X; but it has much fewer co-sponsors than the other bill.
