1) Mukesh Ambani was born on 19 April 1957 in the British Crown colony of Aden (present-day Yemen) to Dhirubhai and Kokilaben.
2) He lived barely in Yemen as his father decided to move back to India to start a trading business that focused on spices and textiles.
3) When Mukesh was young, his family lived in a simple 2-bedroom apartment in Mumbai.
4) He was hardly given pocket money during his youth and always used to travel in public transport.
5) During his school days, he had a passion for hockey. He in fact lost his interest in studies due to this.
6) He attended the Hill Grange High School at Peddar Road, Mumbai, along with Anand Jain (now the Chairman of Jai Corp Limited), who later became his close associate.
7) After his secondary schooling, he studied at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
8) He then received a BE degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology.
9) In the 1980s, He was studying MBA at the Ivy-league school Stanford University in California but had to drop out to return to India and join his family business.
10)Dhirubhai Ambani got a license to set up a polyester plant, which was very crucial to the business.
11) He asked Mukesh to drop out and help him set up the manufacturing site.
12) Dhirubhai believed that real-life skills were harnessed through experiences and not by sitting in a classroom.
13)After joining, Mukesh reported daily to Rasikbhai, then executive director.
14) The company was being built from scratch with the principle of everybody contributing to the business and not heavily depending on selected individuals.
15) Dhirubhai treated him as a business partner allowing him the freedom to contribute even with little experience.
16) This principle came into play after Rasikbhai's death and with Dhirubhai suffering a stroke in 1986 when all the responsibility shifted to his sons.
17) Mukesh set up Reliance Infocomm (Reliance Jio), which was focused on information and communications technology.
18) At the age of 24, he was given charge of the Patalganga plant when the company was heavily investing in petrochemicals.
19) In 2002, Dhirubhai died which elevated tensions between the brothers as Dhirubhai had not left a will for the distribution of the empire.
20) In 2004, their mother intervened to stop the feud, splitting the company into two, Mukesh receiving control of Reliance Industries.
21) He led the creation of the world's largest grassroots petroleum refinery at Jamnagar.
22) In 2019, a court held Anil Ambani in criminal contempt for non-payment of personally guaranteed debt (Rcom) owed to Ericsson.
23)Instead of jail time, the court gave Anil a month to come up with the funds. In the end, Mukesh bailed out his younger brother, paying the debt.
24)Professor William Sharpe and Man Mohan really made an impact on Mukesh during his academia as he mentions they were the professors who made him think out of the box.

26)Nita, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, was doing a routine at a cultural dance show when she charmed Dhirubhai with her performance. Dhirubhai invited her to meet Mukesh.

28) However, he didn’t pop the question during a romantic dinner, but while the couple was driving on one of the busiest roads in Mumbai.
29) He stopped the car amid the traffic, insisting that he wouldn’t start it until he’d received Nita’s “yes”. The pair married in 1985.
30) Their relationship was in the news when Mukesh gifted Nita a $62 million Airbus A319 for her birthday.
31) The Airbus has a capacity of 180 passengers, has been custom-fitted to include a living room, bedroom, satellite television, WiFi, sky bar, Jacuzzi, and an office.

The van is also fireproof and bulletproof and costs around $5 million.

40)According to a report in Times Now, Mukesh Ambani is the only businessman in India who gets the Z level security, which costs him nearly 15-16 lakhs per month.
41) He was titled "The World's Richest Sports Team Owner" after his purchase of the IPL cricket team Mumbai Indians for $111.9 million in 2008.
42) Mukesh Ambani also owns the Indian Super League, which is India’s premium football championship.
