Muni Shri Devsiddhavijayji Maharaj ~Born as Devraj in Davangere, Karnataka in a non Jain family, he was a non-vegetarian since birth. Today he completed 108 yatras of #Shatrunjay hill in 27 days while fasting - i.e. without food. His transformation story in thread #jainism #jain
One day, her Jain employer forgot some stuff at the derasar (Jain temple), & asked him to collect it for her. He went there & was awestruck at the glimpse of the lord. This was the first time Devraj had seen the glory of Tirthankar prabhu. While returning he saw the notice board.
The notice in Kannada mentioned that the sangh was organising a Maskshaman Tapasya (Fasting for 30 days straight) - but Devraj misinterpreted it as Mas-Bhakshan (consumption of meat). He enquired the same to her employer who made her understand the Jain way of life
He was highly intrigued and wished to do Maskshaman which was being conducted under the guidance of Shri Hirchandravijayji. Fasting for 30 days without any food - that too by a Non vegetarian Non Jain was unthinkable! But as was the divine wish - he completed it successfully.
The Sangh celebrated his parna grandly. His passion towards Jainism increased! He started learning Jainism from Shri Nirmohchandravijayji who knew Kannada. The same year he did Updhan (living like a monk for 45 days with penances) & did Loch (plucking of hair). Unthinkable right?
For 4 years, Devraj learnt about Jainism and lived with the monks. His mind was now firm to take Diksha. His feelings towards accepting Saiyam were at the peak ! He requested Pujya Hirchandravijayji to initiate him. Pujya shri, after making him undertake various tests & contd
& after obtaining permission from his Gacchadhipati (head of monastic order) and Devraj's family, agreed to initiate him as a monk. He took Diksha and his guru gave him the name ~ Muni Shri Devsiddhavijayji ! After his diksha , munishri continuously did 1026 Ayambils,
15 Atthams (3 upwas), various chatths (2 upwas) , 31 Upwas and 45 upwas before doing parna last year !!!

After witnessing this , I feel that I have not yet received the Jain Shashan, that he being a non Jain had received !

Dhanya muniraj ! Dhanya Jinshasan !
I was filled with a lot of emotions while writing this tweet. Made some grammatical errors. Please forgive me for that 😇

In Samvat 1633, Akbar's Commander Tursamkhan attacked Sirohi and got to know of the various Jain panchdhatu idols preserved in various jinalays. He knew that the Gold content in these idols was very high, so he captured 1050 panchdhatu idols from various nearby temples of Sirohi
Tursamkhan collected them all and carried them all to Fatehpur Sikri. In the meantime this news reached Karmachand Bacchawat of Bikaner who rushed to Fatehpur Sikri to prevent the idols from melting. Karmachand arrived at Akbar's court with various gifts which pleased the king

(1/4) On this day, 125 years ago, Shri Atmaramji Maharaj (Acharya Vijayanandsuri) attained Kaldharma at Gujranwala Pakistan. He was one of the first Jain monks in modern times to receive the title of Acharya.

(2/4) He was originally initiated as a Sthanakvasi monk. On
realising the authenticity of idol worship as per the Jain scriptures, he abandoned his privileged
position as a Sthanakvasi monk without any hesitation and joined the Murtipujak tradition.
(3/4) He travelled extensively in Gujarat, Rajasthan & Punjab; He organised and reformed Jain community, ascetic orders and literature. He wrote several books in Hindi and was invited to the first World Parliament of Religions in 1893 which was attended by Virchand Gandhi later.

Today, on the occasion of Janma Kalyanak of Lord Neminath, I am extremely saddened to witness that no one remembers the land where the Lord was born ~ Shri Shouripuri Tirth.

Read more about this tirth in the thread

Situated near Agra in UP, this tirth is mentioned in various Agams like Samavayang Sutra, Uttaradhyayan Sutra, Avashyak Niryukti, Kalpasutra etc. Shri Bhagvati Sutra mentions that even Lord Mahavir visited this place where he gave a sermon about the past life of a fisherman.
Even the famous traveler Megasthenes visited this place. The original mulnayak parmatma of this tirth was installed by Akbar Pratibodhak Acharya Heervijaysurishwarji Maharaja. Many ancient Jain relics were excavated from this town by Sir Alexander Cunningham.
