Let's not lose the #research & #opportunity of @KzooICMS & @MedievalAcademy since #CoronaCrisis cancelled them.

We have the #technology.
We have the #skills from @QMUL_HSS & @stuffofwar.

Let's make a date in May! cushingmediaeval at gmail dot com
Please note both WMU Medieval & MAA have confirmed that they do not endorse any virtual event in lieu of their #conferencecancelled.
Yet so many people have worked so hard, having work +/- contracts +/- funding in peril, that I can't let it go right when we need it most.

Thrilled we finished this 8 yr study w/@NeuroCellPress Wonder what oxygen, blood vessels, Hif1 has to do with cell polarity & neuron migration? Genetics, gaussian & lattice light-sheet crack the case! Cerebellar blood vessels in cyan #cellfie #Science
url:cell.com/neuron/fulltex…
The story starts w/great chances to interact w/ world-class scientists @StJudeResearch On a visit here, Bill Kaelin @kaelin_lab asked me a question: your favorite polarity reg protein is hypoxia-responsive, does O2 impact migration initiation? Following up led to this study.
Everyone #TakeABow that did the #work: this paper is our second in row where we had at least four equal contribution first authors. A multiyear and multidiscipline project like this needs teamwork.

Going through my notes from the DIPS workshop (21-23 Feb 2020), I couldn't help but marvel at the depth and quality of the ideas discussed! 💡

👇This thread is an attempt to share select insights and thank ALL the organizers for the experience! 🙏

💡Good problem solvers are not necessarily good researchers also.

💡Simply wanting to do science is not enough. Persistence matters a lot more than wit does.

PS: Excellent thread by @AasthaV_ for a glimpse of all the lectures and tours!

🍎 Apples are falling on everybody's heads, all the time. Only a few Newtonian people ask WHY.

🍎 Since physician-scientists are less in number, benchmarking success is tough. You have to define your own criteria for success and strive towards them.

I am so glad that researchers are interested in helping extend #STEM opportunities to #tribal students!

But please understand that we #Indigenous academics spend considerable time to cultivate relationships of TRUST. No one should expect automatic access our networks. 1/8 #phd
Some well-intentioned researchers have asked to contact my networks bc they 1) have a #diversity goal (Indigenous people as a ✔️), 2) request a letter of support, or 3) have an idea to "help us". If this is our first communication, understand that we have not yet built trust. 2/8
Know that many #Indigenous academics have been burned by ppl who take the letter of support without honoring their commitments to those who helped obtain the grant or tenureship benchmark. That's extractive, and we do not forget. (Also true for #research community engagement) 3/8

From March 1-December 4 2019, I was in India doing research for my dissertation. I visited several archives and libraries and would like to share some of the helpful resources that made my research experience so beneficial. #Research #ResearchSouthAsia #ResearchIndia 1/10
I must state up front that many Indian archivists and librarians greatly assisted me. I also received helpful advice from incredible students at JNU, DU, JMI, Ashoka, and South Asian University. Plus I thank wonderful folks at Carnegie India, ORF, CPR, and Brookings India 2/10
Okay, now to research resources. First, I was delighted to learn (thanks to @raghunid) that nearly all of the Selected Works of Jawaharlal Nehru (SWJN) have been digitized. Now anyone anywhere can access and use nearly all of them 3/10

An order was released on 25th January 2020 by the administration of J&K allowing internet access on 2G for 301 whitelisted websites. We asked a user to access some whitelisted websites on 2G.
This is what was found.
#LetTheNetWork #KeepItOn #JammuAndKashmir
The user first tried to access the website of Jammu and Kashmir bank. All of these websites were accessed on a 2G connection.

Second website was Paspostindia.gov.in
Most websites took too long to respond and the user received a Time Out error. This was the UIDAI(AADHAR) website which didn't open. #Governmentservice

Lets talk about #StockMarket participation & #SocialInteraction...
Here is a question: If you go to church with, or you are a neighbour to someone that participates in the #StockMarket, do you think being in their company can lead to you (given you aren't a retail investor) participating in the stock market?
I am currently engaged in a #Research wherein I explore the reasons why and the reasons why not retail investors participate in the #StockMarket. I am also looking at the reasons why a private company would choose to go public & list its shares on a stock exchange...

My previous threads on #qualitative #interviewing referred mainly to one-to-one, semi-structured interviews. Research interviews, however, can be conducted in more than one way. #1 @AcademicChatter #phdchat #QualitativeResearch
@AcademicChatter In this thread, some different ways to conduct interviews are discussed, so have a look and see whether a different format could help answer your research question better. #2
@AcademicChatter The social research literature categorises research interviews roughly into #structured, semi-structured, and unstructured interviews based on the degree of #planning or preparation from the interviewer’s side and the #leeway available for participants in their responses. #3

Indeed, if one considers the #FED #Dotplot of December 2019, the decision to keep rates unchanged would not come as a surprise. What I wanted to focus on today is some key passages in the statement, highlighted in yellow in the screenshot below...its all #PhillipsCurve...

@WaysMeansCmte @RepKevinBrady @RosaDeLauro notes that low-income Americans struggle to afford paid leave. Indeed, research finds that 57% of employees earning $30,000 or less take on debt after a partially compensated or uncompensated #caregiving leave.

My current #Working #Research #Topic: "A Review of the #CommonMonetaryArea of #SouthernAfrica: Are Client Countries Better-off De-Linking from the #Anchor #Economy?". I'm using #OptimumCurrencyArea #OCA #Theory to analyse the #CMA arrangement. Draft will be ready January end..!
The #CommonMonetaryArea of #SouthernAfrica or #CMA could seem to some (mostly the technically inclined) to be a no-brainer & a clear natural #OptimumCurrencyArea given the historical links between the #anchor #SouthAfrica & the #clients (#Lesotho #Eswatini & #Namibia)...
Be that as it may, 2020 marks 46 years since the #RandMonetaryArea - #RMA agreement and 34 years since the RMA was revised to establish the #CommonMonetaryArea - #CMA between #SouthAfrica, #Lesotho, Swaziland (now, #Eswatini) and #Namibia...

The Jesuit Department of Homeland Security - NWO Vatican Jesuits created, control and run the DHS

The so called "Alternative media" loves to talk about how the DHS is storing up billions of rounds of ammunition for the American people,
but what they fail to tell you is the OBVIOUS fact that the Jesuits created, control and run the Department of Homeland Security. This video is distinct and unequivocal PROOF that the Jesuits are behind the unpatriotic and Orwellian DHS.
John C. Gannon and Randy Beardsworth who were crucial in the creation of the DHS agency, were both Jesuit trained. Virtually all the top positions since its inception have been filled by Jesuit trained individuals and or Papal knights.

Conducting a quick #Twitter focus group study for when I launch my free video platform. Trying to gauge what my followers would like most. Plz RT to grow awareness & comment below if you have specifics. I welcome all ideas. #Trump2020 #Redpill #Qanon #Research #TheGreatAwakening
If I had a vote, I would pick #TheGreatAwakening Redpill videos cuz they’re intended to make the most impact for people who don’t have the time to watch an hr long video. The videos will have a mix of my fave artists music AND original scoring by an amazing composer! Can’t wait!
I also want to point out, every type of video has the sole intention on helping the public get to critical mass thinking for themselves and no longer beholden to constant Psyops every second of their life. Every video will help us achieve our goals of peace, happiness & liberty!
