Mango Island #Tonga via Airbus SPOT imagery 1/16/22. Unfortunately the inhabited part of the island obscured by clouds. It appears either survivors or debris in a spot not normally occupied by people on lower right.

Reference image from 1/14/22 of Mango Island, you'll notice the bright spot visible in the other imaging not present. I suspect survivors of the tsunami put up some kind of shelter up at the high point of the island. Tent, leanto or stretcher. Looks like at least 5-6 people too

Fonoifua island #Tonga after the #tsunami. Maybe some damage on the east side of that beach, but much less obvious here than elsewhere. Larger Vegetation near shore untouched, all the major structures still intact.

I take that back... looks like the lower elevation structures taken out by a #tsunami there on Fonoifua when you view before/after in Google Earth at an angle. :-(

Before/after in Google Earth of Fonoifua #Tonga. I now think hit by the #tsunami with quite a bit of debris scattering.

It appears they had a delivery of water on January 14th (not sure what the issue was with their normal supply) -- hopefully some of that water survived the inundation

The water was delivered to this building (school? community center?), at 19ft ASL. You can see the solar panels were destroyed, and the water tank pushed past the building by the #tsunami surge.

Here's that water tank, so clearly a big enough surge to push a heavy tank (presumably empty since they are getting deliveries of water) 130 feet. #Fonoifua

#Fonoifua Tsunami likely took out their new(er) solar panel array, which appears to be against the ocean. The foundation of a home (presumably destroyed in an earlier disaster) plus this cement planter obvious.
