Prosecutors have granted immunity to Matt Gaetz’s ex-girlfriend in exchange for the testimony she gave to the grand jury last week, per CBS News. This means there’s nearly a 100% chance Gaetz is being criminally indicted.
This comes on top of Joel Greenberg finally agreeing to a sentencing hearing, after having previously pushed back his sentencing multiple times because he wanted to get credit for the results of his cooperation. This suggests Gaetz will be indicted before Greenberg’s hearing.
The big question at this point is what the specific charges against Gaetz will be. Will it include the hideous alleged underage sex trafficking, or will it merely be for more transactional but more easily proven related charges like obstruction or money crimes?
There’s also the question of who else will be indicted as a result of Greenberg’s cooperation. Will Gaetz be the biggest name? Are other high profile Florida politicians caught up in this? We’ll find out soon enough.
Greenberg’s sentencing hearing has recently been set for March 29th. That doesn’t necessarily mean prosecutors needed that much additional time; it appears this was merely the next available sentencing date after prosecutors gave the all clear to sentence him.
So while the precise timeframe for Gaetz’s indictment still isn’t clear, there’s no reason to think we’ll have to wait until late March. It really comes down to whether the ex girlfriend was the final grand jury witness. Once testimony is done, you indict and announce.
Gaetz still says he’s innocent, so presumably he’ll initially plead not guilty. If prosecutors can then convince him that they’ve got a slam dunk case and his lawyers can’t get him off, then they can push him to flip on bigger fish.
As far as when Gaetz resigns, that’ll come down to if or when House Republican leadership (officially McCarthy, unofficially Trump) selfishly decides that it’s better off cutting him loose than having to keep facing damaging questions about why he’s still in the House.

When discussing the New York AG's civil probe against the Trump Organization, the media rarely acknowledges that the NY AG also has a Trump criminal case with the Manhattan DA. All Trump criminal activity unearthed in the civil probe will (obviously) result in criminal charges.
Most of the media has tried to stay as far away as possible from the reality that Trump has been on track for prison since the minute he lost the election. NY criminal case has been minimized. Coverage of NY civil case usually omits related criminal case, etc.
This makes sense from a ratings standpoint. How can the media milk the current false narrative about Trump making a 2024 comeback, while also admitting that he's on track to be in prison long before then? So it just pretends he's not on track for prison.

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly has come out in support of exempting voting rights from the filibuster. This was always going to happen. He was only “keeping an open mind” so as to appear reasonable in the eyes of swing voters in his purple state. It’s just how politics works.
All that media hype about Mark Kelly being on the fence was just that, media hype. Scare you into fearing he might go the other way, so you’ll stare paralyzed at your screen and boost their ratings while awaiting his “decision.”
The only real news here is that with Mark Kelly now out of the closet on this, it places even more pressure on the other senator from his state, Kyrsten Sinema. Time for us all to ram up the pressure on her. Call her office now at 202-224-4521 (be civil or you’re not helping)

Now that it’s clear Trump is being indicted in New York, the media has (baselessly) decided today that he’ll definitely run in 2024. The more obvious it is that Trump is toast, the more loudly the media tries to shout down the facts, in favor of hyping ratings-friendly fiction.
When Trump is arrested, the media will insist that he’s *definitely* going to win in 2024 now.

And if Trump happens to drop dead at any point, the media will insist that now he’s really got us where he wants us.
Everyone in the media knows that Trump is merely acting like he’s going to run in 2024, so he can rake in donations and use it for legal bills. Yet the media is helping him pretend he’s going to run. Trump and the media have arguably entered into a criminal conspiracy to defraud.

New York Attorney General Letitia James just announced she has “significant evidence” that Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and Ivanka Trump falsified asset values for loan, insurance, and tax purposes. These would be felonies.
While James has made this court filing as part of her civil probe into the Trump Organization which doesn’t involve criminal charges, she’s also jointly running a Trump criminal probe with the Manhattan District Attorney.
Accordingly, it’s now very likely that the Manhattan DA and New York AG will criminally indict Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and Ivanka Trump on charges along the lines of mortgage fraud, insurance fraud, tax fraud. After all, the AG just said she has the evidence against them.

Politics is never about whether you “trust” someone or if they’re “good” or “bad.” It’s about whether you have leverage over someone and can squeeze them. If you insist someone will never cave, you’re forfeiting your leverage. Don’t even TALK like that, if you want to win.
When you say “Manchin and Sinema will never cave,” you’re giving them cover to never have to cave. You’re sabotaging the leverage that the rest of us are trying to use to force them to cave. You’re helping Manchin and Sinema when you yell defeatist stuff. STOP IT. NOW.
If you truly can’t understand that you’re harming our chances by yelling “they’ll never cave no matter what,” then you don’t belong anywhere near political activism. The rest of us deserve better than your dumb ass screwing up our chances. Shut up and go away for the common good.

MSNBC just falsely declared that voting rights legislation is “all but dead.” These fucking liars just make shit up to scare you into staying tuned in so they can hit their ratings marks. If you want to know what’s going on, start by turning that fictional bullshit off.
Now MSNBC is hyping the “rise of DeSantis.” Again, a fictional narrative. Back in the real world, DeSantis is unpopular enough he’s at serious risk of losing reelection in 2022. But because he’s scary and thus good for ratings, they’re falsely hyping him for 2024. It’s fiction.
There’s just no way you can square being a regular MSNBC (or CNN) viewer with being knowledgeable, savvy, or in any sort of position to fight and win political battles. These networks have always been hyperbolic in the pursuit of ratings. But these days they’re literally fiction.
