2/ Gerrymandering is one of the ways that Republicans cheat. It allows them to have 2/3rds of the legislative seats when they only get about 50% of the votes.

3/ The gerrymandering is perfected to the local level, which entrenches corrupt political power because it removes accountability to voters.

4/ In addition to gerrymandering, voter suppression is widespread, it's not just happening at the margins. After voters passed a constitutional amendment to restore felons voting rights, the #RPOF gutted it.

5/ Voter suppression from Florida's gerrymandered legislature intensified in 2021, by passing S.B. 90. This came AFTER governor Ron DeSantis declared Florida's 2020 elections were practically flawless. They were sued within minutes of passing that bill.

8/ Another tactic Republicans use is to find write-in candidates that get almost no votes, spend no money, and whose only objective is to disenfranchise voters by closing partisan primary races, where there is no opposing party general election candidate.

11/ It's not a new phenomenon, it's just a worsening problem. The Republicans cheated in Florida in 2000, including hosting a mini-insurrection in S. Florida. Its all well documented.
