(PS) This is a dynamic ranking that will be updated over time, and includes honorable mentions, special citations, watchlists, a section on the most exciting never-to-be-released games, and much more. It’s time the NES homebrew scene got the attention and celebration it deserves!
PS/ It’s hard to fully underscore how nonsensical what she’s saying is. Yes—we discovered that cloth masks aren’t as effective as had once been hoped. So what the hell do you take from that? When we mask up, we need to wear N95 masks. What does she take from it? No masks anymore!
PS2/ She lies in saying we were told getting vaccinated would preclude infection. No—we were told vaccination would lead to less serious illness. That’s *just* what happened. So what should we do? Get vaccinated and boosted! What does she think we should do? Nothing, apparently!
I never worked a terrorism case but this sounds like a terroristic threat? Can anyone with expertise in this chime in? She uses the future tense, gives a time and place, says she'll be armed, indicates what her political goal is...I mean I'm not saying I know—I'm honestly asking.
(PS) She also says her weapons will not just be "loaded" but "ready [to be fired]." I'm *pretty* sure law enforcement needs to make contact with her ASAP if they haven't already. Anyway, I'm tweeting this out to see if I'm missing something, and if not to give it more attention.
(PS2) Um, I'm sorry, but, in response to the article below... just *no*. I don't think you can say what this person said; have the school board *go your way* (negating your threat); and then apologize and have it be okay. This needs to be looked into ASAP. whsv.com/2022/01/21/off…
This is so short-sighted on the part of MLB. I agree with the Rays that the “sister city” idea—a defiantly metamodern one—is likely to be the future of professional sports. But we may be a few decades off from that, and no one really expects MLB to be a trailblazer in *anything*.
IOW the internet has changed our notion of space/time irretrievably. In a way we never did before, we understand that two seemingly contradictory concepts can occupy the same space. I think it’ll ultimately be seen as a “throwback” to view sports teams as tied to *only* one city.
Consider: if a pro sports team played just *one game* in your city of 100,000 each year—but *without fail*—don't you think your city would start to think of that team as being “yours” as well as others’? Suddenly fandom is disseminated/diffused in a way that elevates *everybody*.
1/ The purpose of this research is to honor the art of some of the most talented creators working in America today. They’ve revitalized and expanded upon the historic influence of (IMO) the greatest video game console in history—the console that made modern video gaming possible.
2/ I hope any gamers who read the above article—not to mention the #nesdev and #nesmaker folks who have made the NES homebrew scene run for years and years and years—will RETWEET it, as America really deserves to discover this absolutely fascinating new ecosystem of 8-bit gaming.
(PS) Right now I’m working on a shocking follow-up to this article. By “shocking” I mean that it’s literally full of things that I didn’t previously know and am shocked by. Its focus will be not just on Grassley and—critically—his staff, but also on Clarence Thomas’s wife Ginni.
(PS2) I want to add how thrilled I am at how large the PROOF community is getting. The comment sections are so vibrant—with new leads offered and great comments like this: “Grassley’s statement could’ve been the exact reason Pence didn’t get in the Secret Service car [on 1/6].”
1/ Americans already know the information House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy would testify to before the House January 6 Committee (though to be clear, PROOF still believes he must be subpoenaed and deposed).
We know what he’ll say because he’s said it publicly at least twice.
2/ CNN reports McCarthy revealed the content of his January 6 call with Trump both in a January 12, 2021 radio interview *and* in a transcribed GOP caucus meeting—and we also have testimony from another Republican rep, who McCarthy described the call to shortly after it happened.
