Remember the case that emerged on Jan. 18 in #Beijing's Chaoyang district? His tracing revealed a deeply touching story of hardship and sorrow that has gripped the entire country. The man, surnamed Yue, was described as someone working odd jobs moving construction material. /1

The story behind this man is even more heartbreaking. The man, born in 1978, had worked as a fisherman. His eldest son disappeared on Aug. 12, 2020. Since the son had worked in kitchens in Beijing, Yue came to search for his son. Previously he had also searched in /11

Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Tianjin. He would work odd jobs to sustain himself on his searches. Yue tells the media that his father is paralyzed while his mother recently shattered a bone in her arm. His wife and younger son are in Weihai, living on the meager wage of his wife. /12

While in Beijing, he stayed in a 10 sqm room costing 700 yuan/month. He found jobs in a Wechat group. "They'd say how many hundred bags of cement needs moving, I'd go if the price is acceptable." A bag of sand is 30 kg, cement is 50 kg. moving on flat floor is 1 yuan/bag, /13
