Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of “GOP Votes NO and Takes the Dough.”

𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰: Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Let’s get started 🧵 →

First up, @hinsonashley.

Earlier this week, Ashley proudly took a bow and announced $829 million heading to #IA01 for critical locks & dams work.

Only problem? She voted NO on the legislation that made this possible.

Next: Maryland’s only Republican Andy Harris.

Andy announced $50k in federal funding for dredging work in his district that he had absolutely no part in securing.
Third: Rep. @MichelleSteelCA!

Steel said the $8.3M heading toward Newport Harbor was “excellent news.”

Excellent? Michelle, you voted against it!!
ocregister.com/2022/01/19/8-3…
Fourth: Rep. @PeteStauber.

At the time of the Infrastructure Deal vote, Pete said he would not be “complicit in paving a destructive and irreversible path towards socialism.”

But when his district got some $$$? He was “happy to announce” it. 𝗬𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀.

Fifth: Rep. @Palmer4Alabama.

Gary called Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal funds for #AL06 the “opportunity we have been working for as a region and a state.”

That “we” is doing an awful lot of work considering Gary didn’t vote for the legislation.

Sixth: Minority Whip @SteveScaliseGOP!

Steve said he was committed to ensuring “South Louisiana has the resources necessary to restore and improve protection for our citizens and communities.”

You sure, Steve? Cause you voted NO on #BIF.

Up Next: Kay Granger.

Kay’s district has $403 million en route for flood control efforts thanks to #BIF.

She actually called the funding “a great day for Fort Worth.” A great day she played no part in making happen. #TX12

Honestly, folks. We have more examples but you get the point → Republicans are shameless and it’s embarrassing to watch.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗: Republicans will never be able to evade culpability for their role in the #Jan6th insurrection.

Here’s why →
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟:
Extremist House Republicans fanned the flames that led to the #Jan6thInsurrection.

They perpetuated the Big Lie and deliberately misled the American people all to curry favor with a failed ex-President.

Publicly, 224 House Republicans failed to acknowledge the truth about the 2020 election, effectively ignoring millions of American voices. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…

NEW 💻 AD: We just launched our largest voter contact ad of the 2020 election cycle to date -- a Spanish-language digital ad exposing Rep. @WillHurd’s failure to stand up for migrant children who were left behind in a Texas detention facility van. #TX23
cbsnews.com/news/democrats…
Our ad reads: “¿Por qué el Congresista Hurd no ha abogado por los niños inmigrantes que han sido abandonados en camionetas?”

Translation: “Why hasn't Congressman Will Hurd spoken up for immigrant children left in vans?”
Earlier this month, a botched effort by the Trump administration left 37 migrant children in a van “under the blistering Texas sun” -- most for at least 23 hours.

Rep. @WillHurd failed to convince his party to take action against these kinds of abuses.

BREAKING: After flipping FORTY seats from red to blue in 2018, we've officially got our sights set on THIRTY-THREE more -- and we're ready to get to work!

Take a look at our first offensive battlefield of the 2020 cycle:
Our Chair @CheriBustos is keeping her promises and wasting no time by working to expand our Democratic House Majority.
Presidential approval polls in 2020 are shaping up to be a lot like 2008 -- when Democrats continued the blue wave from the midterm. History is on our side, which means Democrats are poised to expand our House Majority even further. fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-2…
