I deeply appreciate @NicolleDWallace's segment with Col. Vindman and Amb. McFaul concerning the potential Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, it was bone chilling.

No, it was frightening.

There is an arrogance and narcissism in this country where we often can't see the rest of the world because we can't see past ourselves. We often behave like the people who act like reading text messages is far more important than paying attention to the car we're driving.

But every now and then need to look up pay attention and remember there's more to the world than just us. Some so-called experts and analysts want to dissect and micromanage the administration's policies and approaches seemingly for fixing blame instead of fixing problems.

That's mostly for political positioning and to sell news, and less about informing the public.

But make no mistake about it, no matter what steps Biden did or didn't do that got us here today, much of the problem dates back to 2014...

...when republicans inserted themselves into foreign policy with Russia's simultaneous Crimea invasion and Syrian incursion, and 2016 when it became amply clear that Putin had a clear preference for Trump doing everything possible to help get him elected.

Yet republicans cravenly went along with Putin's interference program because despite the national security dangers, allowing Putin's interference worked to their short-term political benefit. All the while we were being actively undermined. Now we're verging on World War III.

So, here's reality: Because of rotten shortsighted politics, power hunger, and greed they not only managed to destabilize democracy, but the entire world order. Congratulations, GOP.
