Any Russian invasion would use armor and ground movements. The Russian T-90 is a cool tank. But it's still just a gun inside a metal box with a smelly engine and wheels. Make enough of them, add some Borat disco disco music and it seems like a cool weapon.
But every time I think of those nice rows of tanks I think about how Western armies are abandoning the use of tanks due to cheap drones. The Turkish Bayraktar drone rebooted conflict in Libya and Armenia. Is Ukraine the next testing ground?
The Ukraine has an aviation capability and makes their own drones in addition to a locally made version of the Bayraktar. Yes Russia has drones but they may not be ready for swarm tactics against armor and troop carriers. forbes.com/sites/davidham…
Any Russian invasion requires units to be mobile and densely packed. Perfect drone hunting territory. Conversely sitting in trenches or checkpoints is not going to be a good idea for Ukrainian soldiers. Welcome to the new world of drone warfare.
Russia has evolved from urban warfare, to pulverizing civilian areas to non kinetic/deniable "hybrid" tactics. No mass casualties predicted but NATO can inflict mass casualties on Russian troops. Its more of a clumsy warning to Ukraine not to join NATO. cnbc.com/2022/01/12/rus…
In the Putin may have overstepped. Triggering European and East European states into realizing that their is not upper limit to Putin's need to extinguish democratic threats. So let's hope Putin blinks. thehill.com/opinion/intern…

Don't forget, in addition to biz and sedition woes, Trump was co-opted and corrupted by a foreign dictatorship: "Barrack inserted language praising the UAE into a Campaign speech to be delivered by the Candidate,... “I nailed it. . . for the home team,” justice.gov/usao-edny/pr/f…

This is an historic moment as Russia plays Cuban Missile Crisis Chicken Part Two against America. Or are they just stress testing NATO and the US? Half measures? Steal a little Ukraine? Or is it all Vlad's Mycraine?
The U.S. military is built to do many things. Probably the best capability they have is to fight head to head against Russian armor and air formations. But for some reason the Russians made us think they would invade the US.
Journalist @carolecadwalla is getting bashed about and insulted in court by Arron Banks. Wonder why? "Katya Banks had entered Britain on a passport sequentially numbered to the passport of Katia Zatuliveter, a woman MI5 had claimed was a Russian spy" theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/j…
"Lawfare" is just another tool used to impoverish, distract, diminish and silence journalists. It doesn't really work. It's more of a badge of honor.
