A Delhi Court (Karkardooma Court) will resume hearing arguments on the bail plea of #UmarKhalid, accused in an Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act case connected to #DelhiRiots.

Previously, prosecution argued that it was defense's submission that investigating officer was communal but first conviction in #DelhiRiots was of a Hindu.

SPP: We need to understand the role of chakka jam in riots. There was chakka jam which was followed by riots in northeast Delhi, Jamia... 10 cases registered... extensive damage to public properties in the first phase.

SPP: When we compare first phase with the second phase it is identical. Hotpots were identified. Hotspots of 2019 were seen in 2020. Difference in intensity but hotspots remained the same. Modus operandi was same. Almost every person involved in December 2019 riots surfaced 2020.

SPP: Primary target is same - police personnel followed by others. Difference b/w 2019 and 2020 is Jamia and Shaheen Bagh were deliberately avoided and women were used as forefront to make it look like rightful dissent in 2020.

Court: I have one question. We have read his speeches in FIR 20/2020. If you look at speeches of Imam, he has his own ideology. He doesn't believe in this ideology at all.
