Today, we honor the six million Jews who alongside millions of others—Roma and Sinti, Slavs, disabled persons, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others—were targeted and murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust. 🧵
It is the memory of these millions of people that remind us we can never be silent in the face of antisemitism and that we must unite to create a country and a world free of bigotry and hatred.
In the face of brazen antisemitic attacks and as we continue to support communities in Texas affected by the hostage crisis at Congregation Beth Israel, Democrats know that we must fight hatred and discrimination wherever they appear and end dehumanizing rhetoric.
We must continue to tell the stories of those murdered in the Holocaust so that religious hatred, homophobia, racism, and xenophobia can never find safe harbor in our country.
Holocaust survivors and their descendants are proof of the triumph of good over evil, and International Holocaust Remembrance Day reminds us we must fight hate wherever it is and protect the human rights of all people.

My grandpa used to say “if you aren’t man or woman enough to put your name on it & your reputation behind it , then it ain’t worth being said or done.” There is a lot of unnamed bullshit in politics, but no one can ever say that I don’t work my ass off for what I believe in.
I started working at 15 to pay for my own school clothes & help pay bills. Worked throughout college & worked FT on Capitol Hill while getting my degree at Georgetown Law. Worked my way up Capitol Hill as a top staffer, state party chair & now DNC chair.Working hard is in my dna.
I took a race for the senate where no one gave me a shot & turned it into one of the most exciting races last cycles. Started with 100 email addresses and $0, I out-raised & out debated a 20+ year incumbent Senator. Had him begging, crying & gave him the fight of his damn life!
For the past 49 years, Roe v. Wade has ensured that every person has a right to safe and legal abortion. Unfortunately, Republicans have undertaken an effort to assure Roe’s legal precedent is dismantled to put abortion access at greater risk than ever before 🧵
We cannot let abortion restrictions, which exacerbate existing health care inequalities for communities of color, go unchallenged. With relentless attacks on access to abortion, the urgency of protecting abortion access by codifying Roe has never been greater.
We commend House Democrats for passing Congresswoman Judy Chu’s Women’s Health Protection Act and commend the president for leading a whole-of-government effort to resist further incursions upon reproductive freedom.
Today, we learned that thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ leadership the economy added over 6.4 million jobs in 2021—the most in a single year—and unemployment is now below 4%, the lowest of the pandemic. 🧵
This is another reminder that President Biden’s economic plan is working. Wages are up, everyone who wants a job can get one, and one of the fastest economic recoveries in history continues to power ahead.
Over the last few weeks alone, the Biden-Harris administration has taken significant steps to drive down the price of food, dramatically ease supply chain bottlenecks, and ensure Americans can safely celebrate the holiday season.
One year ago, we witnessed a violent assault on the Capitol. Many of us continue to struggle with the horrors and shocking images we witnessed as we strive to heal as a nation. The events on January 6 of last year shook me to my very core. 🧵
Throughout our history, even during times of war and civil unrest, America has always been able to peacefully transition power. But last year, we witnessed a nightmare, an assault on the symbol of American democracy—our nation’s Capitol.
Since then, countless members of Congress continue to break their oaths to protect and defend our democracy.
We cannot allow the events of January 6 to be whitewashed and rewritten. This attack was fueled by hatred, enabled by the former president, and perpetuated by lies.
Folks, my holiday cookie recipe is perfect for Christmas this year—but there probably won’t be enough left to leave out for Santa. I hope you all have fun making (and eating!) these cookies this holiday season. 🧵

3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup canned milk

🧵 And now back to the program… Peggy Noonan and the unrelenting hit job that she & the GOP right wing are trying to put on VP @KamalaHarris . And before I hear the M. Obama quotes… had y’all properly checked this in the 80s I wouldn’t have to in ‘21.. so don’t want to 👂 it.
The right seems threatened by smart, strong-willed, free thinking women & POC. Don’t believe me- see Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, & now Kamala Harris. In their strategy to “mean girl”them out of existence- they target their looks, mannerisms, & personalities to “otherize” them.
And over the years Noonan has been the queen of Otherizing. With eloquent prose, timed hair flips, & dramatic deep-breath pauses, she has attempted to define the aforementioned (& Obama) as outside of the American mainstream, but to her Trump’s style made him appear “normal.”
