The Swedish Government is currently about to decide on a proposal to open an iron ore mine in Gállok on indigenous Sámi land. The Sámi are Europe’s only recognised Indigenous people, living in a part of the world experiencing heating four times faster than the global average.

Approval of this mine would constitute a violation of human rights and an environmental disaster! A clear example of the ongoing systematic colonial exploitation of indigenous people and their lands in Sweden that we need to stop.

This petition is an open letter to the responsible Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson, Sweden's Minister of Business, Industry & Innovation. We will meet him on February 11th to hand over the signatures - sign the letter to increase the pressure.
