We stand with the Palestinian people against settler-colonization. We stand against all forms of colonialism and systematic repression by militaries and institutions.

A thread:
To be clear, in response to some feedback we've received from previously shared posts, we stand against antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.
We know that in certain countries the BDS movement may have been co-opted or taken away from its intended purpose.
But as we are based in many countries across the world, we primarily listen to the colonized and oppressed people (in this case, Palestinians especially) on the non-violent civil disobedience actions that they are calling on the rest of the world to do.

It is important to us as a group with a sizeable platform that we extend our voice and amplify calls for support & help worldwide,
especially since we are operating in a Global North country that is complicit in the Palestinian struggle. We wanted to discuss why we need to talk about it, as a climate justice group, and as people.
Solidarity and community are important tools in our mission, and today we are standing in solidarity with #SheikhJarrah and #FreePalestine movement. This struggle is complex. Still, there are so many facets of the colonial system that is built to suppress Palestnians.
Incarceration, the ID system and restriction to Al-Aqsa mosque are all things we need to learn and understand, and then fight. This is not a definite resource, but it is a statement as to why we are taking a stand.
@climatestrikecanada will be using their platform over the next few days to amplify the voices of Palestinian youth activists, honouring the lives of those who have been lost, and sharing action items.
Please continue educating yourselves on the issue using credible sources, and act by means that are accessible to you.

Today, on the day of Shell’s Annual General Meeting #ShellAGM2021, we call on the dismantling of the company and fair reparations for those affected by its criminal activities. #ShellMustFall #DismantleShell #JustTransitionNow #FossilCriminals
It is a fantasy that #Shell will ever become a fair, ecological company. Shell’s management continues to maximize profit for its shareholders at all costs.
We know the results: corruption scandals, mass layoffs, earthquakes in Groningen, a polluted Niger Delta, violence and the climate crisis. Therefore we say: #ShellMustFall #DismantleShell

The myth of overpopulation as the reason for the climate crisis is the belief that there are more people than the planet is able to sustain.
This narrative is used by many famous western environmentalists. Blaming less wealthy people and regions for climate change. 🧵 (1/4)
The most affected people & areas (MAPA) are also the least responsible – the ones already suffering & fighting the hardest under climate change. We want to make it clear:

Overpopulation as the cause of the climate crisis is a myth & deeply entangled with racism &eugenics. (2/4)
There are enough resources for everyone. The issue is not scarcity, the issue is artificial scarcity under the current economic system. We can solve that problem with system change. (3/4)

URGENT: INTERNATIONAL STRIKE THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, IN RESPONSE TO COP25 EVENTS

IMPORTANT THREAD: /1

Please read all of it!
On Wednesday, December 11th, over 300 climate activists, including many young climate strikers from around the world, were kicked out of COP25 in Madrid after protesting for women’s and indigenous people’s rights and calling for ambitious actions from rich countries. /2
The voices of millions of people are silenced at the climate change conference in Madrid. While civil society was kicked out from the COP25, fossil fuel lobbyists remained inside. This cannot be tolerated! /3
