There are two roads open to the Conservative Party of Canada. One is the road of Randy Hillier and Derek Sloan. It is angry, negative, and extreme. It is a dead-end; one that would see the party of Confederation become the NDP of the right. 1/5
The other road is to better reflect the Canada of 2022. To recognize that conservatism is organic not static and that a winning message is one of inclusion, optimism, ideas and hope. 2/5
There is a report tonight of members of the Conservative caucus who are unsure of what road to take. They are, it is said, bringing a letter to caucus to trigger a vote on my leadership of the Party.

Good. 3/5
I’m not going anywhere and I’m not turning back. Canada needs us to be united and serious!

It’s time for a reckoning. To settle this in caucus. Right here. Right now. Once and for all.

Anger vs. Optimism. That is the choice in simple terms. 4/5
I will accept the result of this vote. The signers of this letter must accept it, too. They brought it. They’ll have to live with it.

Rebecca and I are committed to our Party and conservatism in Canada. We look forward to continuing the journey. 5/5

In an interview on the 1 year anniversary of the Liberal government’s Twitter diplomacy dispute with Saudi Arabia, I said that if Canada has no relationship with a country then we cannot raise important human rights, diplomatic or rule of law issues with that country. 1/5
We have serious concerns about human rights, the war in Yemen & other issues with Saudi. I raised these issues & spoke about the challenge dealing with countries we share interests with but don't share values with. I have raised this since the start. 2/5
The Conservatives did not proactively raise Saudi Arabia, but responded to media questions on the dispute anniversary. I said frayed relations with India & China will be the priority but we will also work to fix other Liberal failures around the globe. 3/5 erinotoolemp.com/2019/05/03/can…

Many Canadians have only recently become familiar with the Admiral Norman affair, so here is a recap of the case and political interference from the Trudeau government that I describe as Direction, Deception & Delay. 1/6
Direction - the breach of trust charge stemmed from a cabinet leak related to attempts to halt a $700M contract. 73 people were aware of the leak but for over a year only Admiral Norman lost his job & had his name given to the RCMP for investigation. 2/6 ottawacitizen.com/news/national/…
Deception - the pre-trial work of Norman’s defence team suggested that Code Words were used by the Trudeau government possibly to avoid disclosure of documents related to Admiral Norman. 3/6 theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic…

A (somewhat) brief history of Team Trudeau and two major legal matters. 1/23
Oct 2015 - Justin Trudeau elected Prime Minister and hires key Ontario Liberal Party advisors Gerry Butts & Katie Telford for top positions in his PMO. 2/23 nationalpost.com/news/politics/…
Fall 2015 - Many key political aides from the McGuinty/Wynne era come to Ottawa to take senior roles in PMO & across Trudeau govt. This includes “Justin Trudeau’s fixer” Zita Astravas. 3/23 cbc.ca/news/politics/…
