When God Shows Up-Day 4
Luke 5:2-9 MSG
Peter and his pals were having a very baaaaad day at workπ₯
ππΌ
They worked their fingers to d bones, yet, no harvestππΌ
*It was EFFORTS 100% WORK DONE Zero*
ππΌ
Well, let's go home...we try again tomorrow, & as they were washing their nets, Jesus Himself showed up.
ππΌ
He said to Peter, "cast your nets on to the other side." (I can imagine the looks on his face & those of his fishing pals.)π±
Someone asked, who is this guy trying to teach us what we already know? π‘
Another answered, "He is the carpenter's son"
What, Really? Was the response.π‘
Peter answered, one more try wouldn't kill anyone...They they gave it one more shot
ππΌ
They had no clue what was coming.
They dint see it coming.
*Luke 5:9 MSG*
When they pulled in that catch of fish, *awe, overwhelmed* Simon and everyone with him.ππ½ββοΈ
ππΌ
Whenever God Himself shows up, the outcome is usually *UNBELIEVABLE*
*Job 29:24 MSG*
When I smiled at them, they could hardly believe it;
their faces lit up, their troubles took wing!
*IN ALL YOUR ENDEAVOURS THIS MONTH, GOD HIMSELF WILL SHOW UP*

*You will no longer labour in vain.*

*When God Shows Up - Day 3*
*1 Sam 23:26-28 MSG*
Saul was on one side of the mountain, David and his men on the other. David was in full retreat,
running, with Saul and his men closing in, about to get him.ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
ππΌ
Obviously, this was a dead end for David.
He was soon going to be history, or, so it appeared.π₯
*Just then...God showed up.*
*1 Sam 23:27 MSG*
Just then a messenger came to Saul and said, "Hurry! Come back
The Philistines have just attacked the country!" ππ½ββοΈ
*God gave king Saul a bigger problem to deal with.*
At the end, the tide turned in David's favourπ±
*1 Sam 23:28 MSG*
So Saul called off his pursuit of David and went back to deal with the Philistines. That's how that

Then when you pray, God will answer. You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.'
*When God Shows Up -Day 2*
The whole of *Exodus 14* shows so much intrigues like no other place in the bible.
ππΌ
When the Israelites left 430yrs of
slavery In Egypt, they breathed a sigh of relief.ππΌ
ππΌ
Their joy was however, cut short when they confronted the reality on ground.ππ½ββοΈ
ππΌThey were in a position that had little or no way out. They were in-between the massive Red Sea & the merciless soldiers of Pharaoh.ππ½ββοΈ
ππΌ
They knew it was a dead end & Pharaoh & his army knew it too. There was no way out.π₯
Exodus 14:3 MSG
"Pharaoh will think, 'd Israelites are lost; they're confused. d wilderness has closed in on them
ππΌ Suddenly, God showed up in His Almightiness, in His power, in His Might

*When God Shows Up -Day 1*
*Luke 7v11-17 MSG*
Talks about a widow, whose life was filled with losses & misery. She lived in Nain.
ππΌ
She had no name.
ππΌHer misery was used to describe her.
ππΌMisery had indeed wrapped itself round her like a fitted garment. She was only identified as *THE WIDOW OF NAIN*
ππΌ
She had lost her hubby, probably a few months or years back, & now, her only son was gone.π₯
ππΌ
Nonetheless, this widow of
Nain proceeded to bury her only son.
ππΌ
There were people there pretending to be mourning, meanwhile, they were gossiping amongst themselves..π€·π½ββοΈ
ππΌ"When did she lose her husband that we are once again burying her only son?
"Lord, thanks for showing up, but where were You when we needed You most?"
A "sensible" and justifiable question we sometimes ask
Isaiah 58:9 MSG
Then when you pray, God will answer. You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.'
Well, this time Lord, you were not around.
You dint "show up" as promised
Mary, one of Lazarus' sisters, knew too well from following Jesus, that He could heal the sick, the possessed, the blind etc, so, when her brother fell ill, there was no other person to call on, but, Jesus, their very dear friend. she then, quickly
sent words to Jesus before things got out of hand, before things became irredeemable.
John 11:3 MSG
Β So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Master, the one you love so very much is sick."
She was fully persuaded He would leave every other thing He was doing and come running,
Luke 8:49b KJV
"...Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master."
I wouldn't blame them for this piece of advice to those who were troubling the Master. Afterall, it was obvious to all, the child was dead
1. They probably didn't really
""KNOW" Jesus. 2. They probably knew or heard He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, healed one or two crippled folks, and the best they probably heard of Jesus was that, when He showed up at Peter's workplace, He did what could be termed as an exceptional miracle. Well,
Elijah did similar stuffs anyways, they said. 3. The knew Jesus to be a gentle and easy going and probably did not show any sign of someone that could raise the dead, someone in the semblance of Elijah who called down fire or Elisha who was a bit temperamental and performed some
- Ps. 109:21-31
A Detroit newspaper reportd that a patient in a local hospital was shot and killed as he lay in his bed recovering from a previous gunshot wound. The victim had been listed in fair condition
prior to the shooting and was looking forward to going home. Hospital patients and employees were stunned. A spokesperson said that nothing like this had happened in the 50yrs of the hospital's existence.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could say the same for our churches?
Wouldn't it be encouraging if we were able to say that in 50yrs of meeting together for worship, fellowship and spiritual healing, we had not had a single instance of a wounded member being cut down by the unkindness of a fellow Christian?
