I took a few photos over the weekend. It felt good to get out and shoot..but..as I pressed the shutter, I realized I wasn't just taking a photo, I was also mining $KOII 🤯

How is this possible? A short 🧵on what $KOII is and how you can mine @KoiiNetwork tokens with a camera.

1/ Cryptographic tokens are mined through consensus mechanisms (i.e. Bitcoins Proof of Work) the @koiinetwork has a unique consensus mechanism called Proof of Real Traffic or PoRT whereby $KOII is mined through the verified traffic that visits a particular piece of content.

2/ When you take a photo and upload it to the @Koiinetwork it is registered as an Atomic NFT and stored permanently on the #Arweave permaweb.

3/ The views the photo receives are tallied by the Koii PoRT consensus and then deposited as $KOII into a wallet proportional to the total views of network content. The more attention a photo receives the more $KOII the photo generates.

4/ To someone serious about photography, the idea of mining crypto while taking photos may feel a bit like over commercializing the art form. But the reality is that it's not easy to make money as a photographer.

5/ For example, a fine art or #streetphotographer who mines $KOII could use this as a way to monetize their work and focus on their genre without having to supplement it with other work or taking on the dreaded “weekend wedding photography” gigs.

6/ Approached with an open mind, cryptographic mining through a photograph may be a more “pure” form of monetization than other traditional methods.
