2/Likewise, similar attempts to spark copycat protests in Canberra and Europe have been attempted with limited success so far. Again, cultivating existing right-wing networks aligned with Putin. This has little to do with “mandates” or COVID but rather challenging the west.

3/Note that the rhetoric in Canada quickly shifted from “end mandates” (irrelevant) to “Trudeau must resign” (consequential to Putin). The goal is to snarl supply chains and create domestic chaos in NATO countries so when/if Putin moves we will be dealing with domestic strife.

4/None of this is rooted in organic or legitimate political belief. It is a cynical attempt to weaponize the alienation felt by some groups in service of geopolitical realignment. Don’t take the bait. And it’s not “American” in origin; our own political landscape was engineered.

5/Let’s reject breathless hot takes and context-free media coverage and focus on what and why these things are happening. Putin is trying to spark geopolitical realignments. So far I don’t think it’s going as well as he hoped. We are actually intercepting him, at threat speed.

6/This attempt to use a hacked Facebook account was spotted, stopped, and documented. That’s one less vector for rapid radicalization.

7/There is chatter that the Canadian situation is being “funded by Americans.” Some fundraisers have been setup by Americans and are getting US-based contributions, but donations can be coming in from anywhere, really, and via proxies. The fascist international network.

8/It serves Putin’s interests to convince Americans that we are the source of all this. But we are not. This is a herpes-like outbreak of international fascism with origins in White Russian reactionary networks as much as any in America. Every country has an aligned faction.

9/So let’s take a beat and analyze this in full global perspective. And let’s take this threat seriously. Some point at a tweet like this and say it’s “ridiculous nonsense” and “grift.” It is also a signal of intent from a key node in this network. We should take it seriously.

10/These folks are *planning* supply chain disruptions and shock events. They may not be successful in achieving those goals, but they are telling us again and again what they intend to do. Posobiec is as Putin-aligned as they come. This is a credible signal of intent.

11/The correct response is to track the moves and foil them, again and again, not just in North America but globally. Cut this off at the knees. Make their plans impossible to execute and raise their costs to insupportable levels. Destroy every vector of support.

12/But the one thing we must not do is treat this as “organic” or give it credibility as legitimate political speech (sound familiar?). We must ruthlessly disable every aspect of these protests and tear the effort apart piece by piece. And media needs to wise up to what this is.
