The Harvard letter is a reminder that critical thinkers believe in the criticality of critical thinking only if it doesn't upset their worldview, power and convenience.
did Raya Sarkar ever get an apology for all the misogynist casteist hounding she faced when she bravely helped people speak their truth?
also casteist is a word twitter. STOP asking me to correct the word.
This fingertip feminist is fucking angry. tired. angry and has to focus on finishing this phd.
we forget. also the last 6 years have been a volley of violence. but let's remember that when Raya made the list, her identity as a dalit was questioned by people who could read Marx and postcolonial theory but couldn't fathom a dalit scholar who lived in Singapore.
all liberal peeps on twitter, remember how we critiqued facists for using 'merit' and 'iphone' as dog whistles of casteism. Well it happened by deeply critical people when Raya curated the lists. I hope you fought them then and are fighting them now.
the sheer stupidity of the Harvard letter. the calculated stupidity. knowing that your power allows you to make such leaps of logic because you have books of critical thinking to your name. uggghhh. ok pausing angry rant now.
also, people who signed the letter have their preferred pronouns in their University page so remember all signs of being a liberal and compassionate person mean nothing if your actions are focused on upholding unjust systems that benefit you.
