π | I get this question A LOT by designers that are new in this field. Which is, "How do I price my work?". It's understandable, because it's not only beginners who struggle with it sometimes, but also professionals.
π | So in this thread, I've gathered points that you should keep in mind, so you can know how to charge for the services you provide.
1β£ | Have a look at freelance sites. So to get a basic market idea of the services you have to offer, have a look at freelance sites.
2β£ | Do not charge hourly. Charging hourly doesn't make sense. If you work quickly - You'd get paid less.
3β£ | Do not charge all clients the same. That's why you should ask the client's budget. You don't know how much they have to gain.
4β£ | Evaluate how much you would pay yourself & someone else to do the work. Be genuine & honest.
5οΈβ£ | Don't forget about your own personal utilities. Before you charge, make sure you count taxes, utilities, rent etc. How much would that be?
6β£ | Base it on the value you have to provide. How will that benefit your client? How much can they make off it? Keep these things in mind.
7β£ | Remember not all clients are the same. You should not price your projects or price the way that you work with them the same way.
8οΈβ£ | See if the industry you're in provides the same service that you are. If the service you provide is rare - then charge more.
π | Which of these points did you keep in mind while charging before? Let me know in the comments below.
