US prisoners are crucial to helping the war machine function, with slave prison labor producing parts for Patriot missiles, F-15 and F-16 jets, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, plus uniforms for all three major branches of the military.
Americans are locked up at a rate unseen anywhere else in the world. Prisoners are paid as little as $0.23 per hour, helping corporate America compete with hyper exploited Asian swetshop labor. It also helps union bust and drive down wages of others. 
Companies like Raytheon and Booz Allen Hamilton make fortunes administering the network of ICE concentration camps dotted around America.
The prison industrial complex is now so normalized that one of the most popular games on the app store is a private prison management simulator, where players profit from inmates' suffering.
