DEER TICK VIRUS—a Pennsylvania site recently found a record high 92% of ticks carrying a variant of potentially fatal Powassan virus called deer-tick virus (DTV). It can also cause lasting neurological effects. Officials fear it may become more common.

MY GOD—Danish 🇩🇰 political leaders have completely lost their frigging minds releasing all #COVID19 mitigations — these are exponentially ⬆️ surging DEATHS not cases!!! This is what happens when a country’s leaders gaslights its own citizens. #CovidIsNotOver

Damn—a flock of about 240,000 chickens owned by Tyson Foods in Kentucky tested positive for a “highly lethal” form of H5N1 bird flu. All birds will be culled. An outbreak of the same strain in 2015 led to 50 million 🐓 and 🦃 deaths.

2) Infections in the chickens being raised for meat triggered more restrictions on U.S. exports, with China blocking poultry products from Kentucky. Last week, buyers like China and Korea limited poultry purchases from Indiana due to an outbreak at a commercial turkey farm there.
3) The disease is hitting the market as poultry supplies are down due to strong demand and labor shortages at meat plants during to the COVID-19 pandemic. Government data showed U.S. frozen chicken supplies were down 14% from a year ago; turkey inventories were down 23%.
