Manchin, meanwhile, told me he wants to talk to Powell again about taming inflation when I asked if he's decided if he'll back Biden's Fed picks. He also has calls lined up with other Fed nominees.

Getting around Toomey’s blockade would require backing of at least one Republican on the committee or floor action by all 50 Dems.
