That is why we need to talk about INTERSECCIONALITY✨ 🧵

Intersectionality essentially, looks at how a person's various cultural,political,and social identities(such as gender identity,sexual or romantic orientation,racial identity, nationality, religion,disability, and more) intersect and create systems of discrimination, or privilege

When we talk about Climate Crisis we cannot ignore its social dimension, because that is where the effects of this Crisis become complex and diverse. It is necessary to consider that although it is a global emergency, it impacts different social groups on different scales. +

What I have seen in the  youth environmental movement is that it lacks intersectionality,it is a whitewashed movement, where the voices of the people most affected by this crisis are not heard, and they only focus on listening to academic experts or white activist+

You cannot be an environmental activist if you are racist, classist, sexist, etc. You have to see your privileges and accept them, listen to people with different realities from yours and learn from them+

You cannot lock yourself in your bubble of privilege and only listen to people like you, you have to actively fight against the injustices that maybe you don't face and LISTEN TO MAPA PEOPLE but really listen not only say that you do it.
