🧵Here's a step-by-step guide to finding and checking any website's backlinks 👇
🧵1: Open up Semrush Backlink Analytics Tool
To take a deep dive into a site's link profile, you'll want to start here: l bit.ly/3rY69kq.
🧵 2: Enter the domain whose link profile you want to analyze
Hit 'check it,' and you'll see an overview of the backlink profile for the domain or page that you've entered, with key insights.
🧵3: Open up the 'Backlinks' tab to dive deep into the links.
Get several filters, making it easier to refine larger link profiles and find what you're looking for. The filters are useful for excluding Nofollow links when you're looking for sites for your outreach effort.
🧵4: Analyze anchor texts on the 'Anchors' Tab.
Head to the 'anchors' tab to see a chart with a full list of your site's top linking terms. This chart makes it easy to see whether a site's link profile contains any concerning spikes across a single non-branded anchor text.
🧵5: Find unique referring domains that link on the 'Referring Domains' Tab.
Head to the tab for an insight into the specific domains that link, and a breakdown of the TLD distribution and country. These metrics are useful in determining link gaps between you and other websites.
🧵 6: See which pages are the most linked to on the 'Indexed Pages' tab.
By analyzing both the page and the type of links it's earning, you can learn what's working for others and look to replicate this approach as part of your own strategy.
🧵7: Compare the link profiles of up to five domains
For this, head back to the overview tab, and you'll be able to add up to five domains to compare link metrics. Either enter your list of competitors or choose from the suggestions that you're presented with.
🧵To dig further into the link gap between your own site and your competitors, you can also use the Backlink Gap Tool and see specific opportunities to explore sites where these other domains have earned links from, but you haven't 🙌 bit.ly/3gWfNhq.

Have you read blogs titled ‘12 best footer examples’ to find one brilliant example and one that’s blah?

When I wrote for @klaviyo, I had to sort through 300 emails to find the perfect 15.

I was pulling my hair out finding ones highlighting Klaviyo AND the article’s intent. Image
🔥 So I developed a matrix for scoring quality examples👇

(My actual Matrix for Klaviyo in the last tweet!)
👉1. How recent is the example? (Importance 5/5)

The world–especially the digital one–changed completely post-covid. Any examples from before 2020 should be analyzed heavily for relevance today.

SEO’s make recommendations 100% of the time. But according to a recent Ttwitter poll, they only get implemented around 30-40% of the time. 😱So what gives? Why is implementation such a blocker 🛑 and how can you overcome it?

#SEOthread @JohnMorabitoSEO
Let’s start with the top reasons your recommendations sit in a dev queue.

✅Lack of understanding of the why and how
✅Lack of senior-level buy-in
✅Not tied to OKRs or KPIs
✅Not properly prioritized
✅Simply not possible

Each can be overcome.
#seothread @JohnMorabitoSEO
Lack of understanding of the why and how behind an SEO recommendation is a sure fire way to not get anything done. 😕 Make sure the team you are asking for help understands exactly what they need to do, and WHY you are asking them to do it. 💬
