(1/8) One small Scottish island produces the curling stones used at the Winter Olympics.
(2/8) For over 200 years, since Chamonix 1924, granite from the island of Ailsa Craig has been producing the stones supplied to the Olympic Winter Games.
(3/8) The slabs are brought in from the yard.
(4/8) Then put on to the coring machine and ground down to size.
(5/8) Once sized, they are shaped and polished.
(6/8) One stone is produced every hour.
(7/8) Producing 38 stones a week.
(8/8) Before being shipped to rinks around the world.
