Everything the Biden administration said would happen is happening. Biden tried to hold it off with the disclosures but Putin is insane. To anyone shitting on Joe Biden or his admin for their handling of this -- you are wrong. Unlike Trump, Joe Biden knew US intel was credible.
I feel tonight as I did when the US launched its invasion of Iraq. The only solace is that this time my president tried to AVERT a war rather than start one.

There was nothing more miserable than watching the UN in session while attacks rained down on Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odessa etc.

The next step MUST be a unified effort by the free world to sanction Russia to kingdom come. Bring Russia to is fucking knees.

Remember Russia said they were not invading Ukraine? They are invading Ukraine. Everything the Biden administration and US intel warned about has turned out to be true. The only good news is that we have a US president who is not working for Putin & does not undermine US intel.
Looking like the Russian plot is to take out Ukrainian military infrastructure nationwide so they can take over Ukraine outright. CNN saying Ukrainian officials cite hundreds of casualties so far.
Pres Zelensky says he just had a call with Pres Biden; tells Ukrainians to stay at home & stay calm, but introduces marshall law; meanwhile air raid sirens ominously going off in Kyiv.
Just a little reminder of how the former defeated president of the United States interacted with the Russian war criminal, Putin.

The sound of these ominous air raid sirens going off in Kyiv is deeply haunting.

I am not religious. But I feel so helpless, I am praying for the people of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called for international action:

1. Devastating sanctions on Russia NOW, including SWIFT
2. Fully isolate Russia by all means, in all formats
3. Weapons & equipment for Ukraine
4. Financial assistance
5. Humanitarian assistance
I'd add sanctioning Belarus for assisting Russia. And make it deeply painful for both Moscow and Minsk.

Today before the UN, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba warned: “Russia will not stop at Ukraine." He is correct. And that is why the Baltics are invoking NATO's Article 4. Self-preservation demands it.

Pres Biden condemns the unprovoked war started by Putin & reminds us all that he and his admin were correct in their predictions of what would transpire. Says he was transparent with what he knew so they would be no doubt that Putin is responsible for the war.

Pres Biden says there is unity between NATO allies as regards escalating tensions in Russian-Ukraine crisis. As the US warned, Russia is launching phony allegations of Ukrainian aggression in separatist regions.
These allegations are being used by Russia to falsely justify invading Ukraine, according to Pres Biden. The US believes a Russian invasion can & may take place within days, but the US & allies will hold Russia accountable for its actions.

Pres Biden makes clear that Russia can choose diplomacy instead of a war of choice that will yield grave consequences.

You know what is insanity? Watching Republicans destroy this country cycle after cycle, to the point democracy itself is on the brink, & privileged people like you threatening to withhold your vote. There is only 1 pro-America team in town & it is the Democrats. #VoteBlueIn2022
Election after election, there is always some privileged fool with their cynical bullshit about no one earning their vote. They are part of the vote suppression caucus & they're doing the tacit dirty work of the GOP. if you're not #votingBluein2022, you are part of the problem.
I write about elections across the world for a living where people risk life & limb to exercise the right to vote, hoping that one day, they will get their democracy dividend. And so they show up to vote.

On Oct 3 2021, the writer of this article went after Biden who was visiting the graves of his children. Now she's claiming Biden, who buried 2 children & a wife, "uses" funerals for political utility. Annie Linskey remains a terrible person with no empathy for people who grieve.
I would note that the actual article by Linksey is more nuanced than the actual summary disseminated by the Washington Post on Twitter. As a newspaper of record, one would expect better. As for the journalist, most of us cannot forget this. He went to see the graves of his kids! Image
One wonders about journalists who are more interested in an angle & a story, than about the fact that death devastates us, grief mires us, & we have a president who understands that-- especially at a time of pandemic when death is a daily reminder.
