#SeditionHunters and journalists: as Russia launches its attack on Ukraine we will hear - are hearing - U.S. public figures praising Putin. The same who also pushed the Jan 6 attack. Realize: the PR groundwork for today was laid over years. Here is Jack Posobiec last month. 1/ Image
Posobiec, chief propagandist for the alt-right, is so obvious he's a guide to whatever op is current: election fraud, racial division, trucker convoys, war. Candace Owens is almost as reliable. Both ex-actors, 'platformed' in 2016-2017. Here's Candace & Jack last month. 2/ Image
Last month was the signal to panic: Posobiec temporarily changed his Twitter name to "Jacek" in January and started posting about Ukrainian territorial integrity. He's a barometer for disinfo, a pure tool. But he represents many, not just 'influencers' but also politicians. 3/ ImageImage
As explosions rock Ukraine it is not the time for a big thread. Just let's not be surprised when many of our newscasters, our politicians, stand up for Russia now instead of for the US. The rot in America started early (see link) & was spread by design. 4/

The 'VIP timeline' was made to trace the back-stories of the public figures who brought crowds to the Capitol on Jan 6. As an exercise, I also counted mentions of any foreign country. No surprise, but it helps to understand our long national nightmare. 5/

In an article about Posobiec's OAN Network in June 2020, former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul raised an alarm about the level of foreign disinfo in the US: “There’s never been a moment like this in American history..." 7/

To put McFaul's quote about disinfo in context: June 2020 was just before the start of the crowd-gathering efforts & series of rallies that culminated in the Jan 6 Capitol attack. Posobiec watched it from OAN's rented rooftop, then strolled the Capitol grounds "reporting". 8/ Image
McFaul has advice for our current moment too: "There is a time and place for hearing two sides of an issue. This tragic moment in European history is not one of them. Do not give false equivalency to voices of evil and voices of good." 9/

#SeditionHunters - #GreenPlaidLady finally arrested, Shelly Stallings of KY. On Jan 6 she was with #PlaidBearSpray, Peter Schwartz of KY (the felon on probation who skipped drug rehab for DC). It's not going to be a complicated case (video h/t @MThymol) 1/
After spraying officers on the W. Plaza, their group moved up to the Lower W. Terrace tunnel. Here's Stallings exiting just behind Schwartz, after being pepper-sprayed. They're now jointly indicted, tho only Schwartz has charges for tunnel assaults. 2/

Here's the indictment, & video of another bear-spray assault by Stallings on the W. Plaza (h/t @CMominator). These folks aren't organizers or militia members - 'normies' willing to commit violence were key to the Capitol attack. 3/

#SeditionHunters have watched hours of Capitol attackers screaming "traitors" to US police; the same now happening in Canada. Video from Global News, at the Ambassador Bridge 10:13 AM Sat. The tactical vehicle is apparently Ontario police, not military. 1/
10:39 AM, police try to sweep the bridge. No riot gear, but at least two tactical teams in back. The Ambassador Bridge is (normally) the busiest international crossing in N. America and a key conduit for automobile manufacturing. 2/
As of today Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant (1600 workers, medium-duty trucks) is shut for lack of parts. GM sent shifts home early on Friday. 3/

Here's a thread about it by NBC's Ben Collins, who emphasizes the fake and foreign Facebook accounts, the disinfo campaigns pushing conspiracy theories, the grifters and the political interests, the fact that "truckers" are largely not in fact truckers. 2/
As we saw for the Capitol attack, once a date is chosen - this year it's Mar 5 - the influence machine rolls into action quickly. Several rally promoters are now pushing parallel campaigns to mobilize people on that one selected day. 3/

#SeditionHunters - a chilling dispatch from Canadian reporter @mattgurney shows parallels between 'protests' in Ottawa now and DC Jan 6. In both cases: 'useful idiots' up front, grabbing press attention, & a harder, more purposeful group waiting behind. 1/

Read this essential reporting. Gurney thinks the city of Ottawa has lost control: that harder elements ("disciplined, organized, and alert for outsiders") are now entrenched in a 2nd location, a group separate from the unwitting protestors, with a goal of disrupting the state. 2/
It's the Jan 6 playbook, eerily similar. Gurney says Ottawa police cannot move now without bloodshed ("dead cops, dead truckers"), short of military help. On Jan 6, Capitol/DC police miraculously called it right, found the only path out. But they faced bear spray, not trucks. 3/
