[Thread] A Muslim whose loyalty is to Allah (swt), His Messenger (saw) and the Ummah first and foremost, does not need to take a side when two non-Muslim warring factions have blood of Muslims on their hands.

In the case of Russia, have we forgotten its historic & deep hatred, aggression and wars against the Ottoman Caliphate? Or the 45 years of brutal communist rule in the Central Asian, Balkan and Caucus Muslim countries? Have we forgotten Afghanistan, Chechnya and Syria so quickly?

In the case of the U.S. and the West who are backing Ukraine — centuries of colonialism, the list of unprovoked invasions, occupation, wars, destabilisation, economic sanctions, domestic discrimination of its Muslim minorities under the guise of “countering terrorism” is endless.

I am no expert on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, and I won’t even try to analyse the situation in a meaningful way — but what I will say is that there is ALWAYS A LOT more than what meets the eye, which includes the accuracy of official war “narratives” of both sides.

Global politics & modern warfare between superpowers is too complex & multifaceted to try conclusively agree with one analysis over the other.

But that’s irrelevant to the point I’m making to Muslims — for those cheerleading for one side over the other, how embarrassing you are!

If Russian troops (or any foreign army) land on the British Isles, and threaten the security and safety of my family, friends, community, and the good people of this country, then I’m ready to rock n roll — that has not happened, and it’s very unlikely that will happen.

Allah tells us in the Quran:

“Their (hostile disbelievers) quarrelling between themselves is severe. You think that they are united while their hearts are divided. That is because they are a people who have no sense.” [59:14]
