BREAKING: 3 Greeks dead, 6 casualties in Sartana, Ukraine.
According to @MegaGegonota, three ethnic Greeks were killed in Sartana (Mariupol district).

"The Ukrainian army is defending itself vigorously."
The war has reignited where the Greeks of Eastern Ukraine are.

Greek media says three dead, Foreign Ministry has confirmed two. One of the injured Greeks of #Sartana #Mariupol is a child.

No confirmation on who is responsible, but it is *likely* Russia

UPDATE: Greek Foreign Ministry confirms Russian aviation is responsible for the murder of three Greeks and the injury of another six in Sartana, Mariupol.
Reportedly Russian forces are bypassing minor coastal towns so they can surround Mariupol.

It saddens me to say that we can expect more Greeks to be killed, especially when Greek villages like Gratnitne are directly on the line of contact.
DPR forces pushing on towards Mariupol.

BREAKING: Another 4 ethnic Greeks in the village of Bougaz (name confirmation in English?), 70 km north of Mariupol, were killed in shelling.

A truly dark day in Black Sea Hellenism.
With Russian forces closing in on Mariupol, let’s also remember the brave Greek diplomats still in the city, serving the Greek community under this intense Russian bombardment that has already murdered 7 ethnic Greeks.
Russia officially denies that its Air Force were operating around Sartana, where earlier today 2 Greeks (according to the FM Dendias) were killed.

Let's hope that all civilians are in bunkers and save as they can be.
Brave Greek journalists are trapped in Mariupol. Greek diplomats still in Mariupol too.

This is the crisis that proved in deed and words that our ethnic communities will not be abandoned like previously. A testament to the foreign ministry under Dendias. newpost.gr/ellada/621a77e…
BREAKING: The death toll of ethnic Greeks in #Mariupol has risen to 10.

All 10 were civilians.
Ukrainian soldiers are preventing some people from leaving Mariupol just as the Russians are closing in on the city - Greeks stuck in the middle, 10 already killed in Russian bombardments.
Let’s hope the battle for Mariupol can end quickly, with as little bloodshed as possible.

The Greek community in Mariupol have complained for years about the Azov Batallion.

Azov soldiers killed a Greek only days before the war started only for speaking Russian - that’s Azov.
BREAKING: Russian Defence Ministry claims:

“Yesterday at 16.00-16.20, Ukrainian ultra-nationalists from the Azov Battalion hit a populated residential area in the village Sartana and school no.8 in Mariupol with Grad rocket launchers. There are civilian victims.”
BREAKING: A Greek Foreign Ministry spokesperson said it has evidence that the Russians bombed the Greek village of Sartana.

"Orthodox bombs killed Orthodox people. Remember this thing. What the Russian embassy said is fake news. We have evidence."
BREAKING: Greece is sending ammunition, Kalashnikov rifles and launchers to Ukraine.

It will be interesting to see if they end up in the hands of the Azov Battalion who since 2014 have led a campaign of terror in Mariupol, including against the Greek communities.
BREAKING: The Greek Consul General in Mariupol informed the Mayor of Sartana to evacuate the Greek population and relocate to Mariupol.
Mariupol is about to be completely besieged by Russian forces and surely vicious street fighting will follow

The Greek Consulate in Mariupol is the only operating diplomatic service left in the city

Greek diplomats are truly brave. Our beloved Greeks of Donetsk aren’t abandoned
BREAKING: Two ethnic Greeks were killed in the Greek-majority village of Sartana in the Mariupol region of Ukraine. At least another four have been injured.

1) Russia says Azov are responsible for the Greek deaths in Mariupol. This aligns with Azov's treatment of Greeks since 2014 despite the naivety to this in Greece, which is proven by Greek media promoting the Azov battalion, who murdered a Greek 2 weeks ago for speaking Russian.
2) The Greek Foreign Ministry said that it has evidence that Russia is responsible for the bombing of Greeks in Sartana. However, it has not yet made that evidence available.
3) The Mayor of Mariupol, the same one who did nothing to control or dismantle the Azov Battalion, confirms that the Azov are currently participating in operations against Russian forces.

The murder of 10 Greeks from Russia’s bombardment yesterday doesn’t absolve the Azov Battalion for 7-8 years of war crimes and human rights violations in Mariupol - and against the Greek community. Some might have been naive to this, but I’ve been talking about this for years.
Even in 2014 The Guardian reported the extremism of the Azov Batallion in Mariupol. That’s why the Greek villages voted (2014) to join the Donetsk People’s Republic, but their villages ended up in Azov hands. Since then the Greeks have faced major problems amp.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep…
We ignored these crimes - The UN said when compared to the previous period, there was a 51% increase in Donbass casualties between February 1 and July 31 2021, accounting for 62 killed and wounded civilians. 81% of civilians died from Ukrainian shelling. ohchr.org/Documents/Coun…

Expect in the near future a nice article that exposes the Eurogenes G25-based software - the one that no scientist uses and is NOT open source software, like propagandists you are.

The humiliation I've put against your propaganda is only beginning.

"It is of particular privilege to be here on the two hundredth anniversary of your independence. It is therefore a statement of support, solidarity, friendship with Greece," the Indian FM said to the Greek PM.
