As thousands of people around the country demonstrate in support of our National Health Service on #SOSNHS Day, Dave Nellist says:
1/7
“With 6 million people waiting for NHS care – no to the Tory plans for £billions more contracts to the private sector."
2/7
"Instead take over the private sector as part of a renationalised #NHS, and integrate the big drug companies, medical equipment and PPE manufacturers into a comprehensive publicly owned, financed and democratically controlled health service.”
3/7
The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition campaigns for:
-An immediate 15% pay rise for health workers
-Emergency funding to repair buildings, restore lost beds and fill the 100,000 vacancies
-Expand mental health and rebuild public health
4/7
-Free social care for all
-Bring outsourced staff and services back into the NHS
-Free prescriptions, eye and dental care
-No fragmentation of the NHS – oppose the Health and Care Bill
5/7
Working people haven't got a major party that fights for all that - let's build one

And can you spare a donation to support TUSC? Unsurprisingly, we have no big business backers, so all donations big and small are gratefully received over at nellistforerdington.com/donate.html

Later today, @bbcwm are holding their hustings for the #Erdington by-election. But Dave Nellist hasn't been invited.
Despite @TUSCoalition holding the biggest election launch of any candidate and generating lots of enthusiasm locally, we've been shut out out this debate.
1/8
This is unlike the Reform UK, Green and Liberal Democrat candidates, who have all been asked to participate.
2/8
This is hardly an evidence-based approach. While Dave’s campaign has put out three leaflets across the constituency and attracted hundreds of volunteers, these candidates’ campaigns have been extremely low key.
3/8
Just announced - leading trade unionist Ian Hodson will be speaking at our pre-election rally tomorrow night!
1/
Ian is president of the Baker’s Food and Allied Workers Union, which last September voted to break ties with the Labour Party due to it no longer representing the interests of ordinary workers, including those working in the food industry.
2/
He'll be speaking about why he’s backing Dave to be a socialist MP on a worker’s wage for #Erdington alongside local community and trade union campaigners.
3/
An incredible turnout for the final Saturday and Sunday before the by-election, with over 150 volunteers in #Erdington, Kingstanding, Castle Vale and Perry Common over the weekend to let people know they can vote for a working class, socialist alternative on Thursday.
1/4
To find out more about what a socialist MP would do for Erdington, come to our public meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 1st March at The Erdington Club, 33 Sutton New Road B23 6TD (just next to Six Ways/Erdington High St).
After years of pleading poverty and saying there’s no money to fund youth services, closing 9 leisure centres and slashing back other services and facilities to the tune of over £770m, Birmingham City Council have found £134.2m towards the cost of the Commonwealth Games.
1/
But vanity projects like this will not fill the massive holes left in communities after years of vital services being ripped out by the Tories in Westminster and Labour on Birmingham City Council.
2/
We absolutely want more access to sports and exercise facilities, but from the bottom up, not this top down corporate approach! We need community sports facilities, not PR stunts.
3/
Less than a week to go until the by-election and our campaign to elect Dave Nellist as a socialist MP on a worker's wage is stepping up a gear.
1/4
Can you help? We'll have teams from Birmingham Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition out across Erdington this weekend as part of our supersonic socialist campaign weekend - more info on nellistforerdington.com/join.html
2/4
We'll also have teams out from Monday morning through to polls closing on Thursday next week - get in touch if you'd like to find out more: nellistforerdington.com/join.html

There were over 30 of us out campaigning for TUSC across #Erdington yesterday, talking to residents about how a socialist MP like Dave would fight the establishment on the issues affecting working class people, from rocketing energy bills to sorting out the housing crisis.

There’s just over a week until polling day - can you help us get the message out? From knocking doors to delivering our latest leaflet, there’s plenty of chances to get involved, no matter whether you’re an experienced campaigner or new to activism.
