3/ What this has done is harmed giant companies like:
• TAL Education Group
• New Oriental Education
BUT…..
Has created MASSIVE opportunities for freelance teachers to poach all these students.
3.1.
What it has also done is,
created a class of ordinary Chinese entrepreneurs to start small fragmented learning centers online, running through WeChat and various other teaching platforms.
(Common Prosperity was seen as a joke by many here on twitter)
4/ They’ve taken income from the rich and allowed middle class participants to start smaller teaching centers (knowingly or unknowingly)
Many then outsource the teaching to independent foreign teachers.
Creating the opportunity for people like you and me to capitalize too.
5/ Freelance:
It’s possible to work between 10-20 hours a week and earn between R3-5k a week.
Either from teaching, selling content, or both.
6/ The best way to get started
Facebook Groups
There are dozens of teaching groups on #FB that advertise for job vacancies and content creation + students join there to look for teachers.
Groups like:
6.1.
More groups:
Every now and then you may come across these new aspiring Chinese entrepreneurs who are wanting to make connections with foreign teachers.
They’ll give out their WeChat contact- you should then add them.
6.2.
For example:
Although not Chinese, but the point remains, students are out there for you to reach) all it takes is a bit of creativity to be the one selected

Tips to stand out
As always,
7.1. Focus on a niche:
• Teaching young learners phonic sounds
• Asian high school students wanting to study abroad ( my speciality)
• Business English
• Conversational English
• Hotel management (tourism)
• Office workshops
7.2.
Don’t be scared to give first
Many potential students continue learning for years, and once they like your style they don’t like to change teachers again after that
• Free trials
• Free content
It’s like any business,
you must invest into it before you get out.(ROI)
They will want to see what you going to teach, and on top of this give free trials
(who doesn’t like free, right? )
7.3.
Courseware
Once they like you,
That’s when you make them buy packages in advance.
10 hours of lessons + the courses you have designed for them.
7.4.
Then you incentivize,
Offer discounts if they bring their friends to study too,
the more people they convince to study with them drives down the individual rate, but drives up your overall class rate.
7.5.
Recycle content
Record the free trials you give, then use the footage as your advertising.
Create YouTube videos to advertise, upload the videos on WeChat - WeChat is a super app.
Create, share, teach, repeat.
8/
Creating content
Many do battle to get into the industry without having degrees, or give up before they land any private students.
However,
there are viable options for those that find their efforts unsuccessful.
9/ Create content that supplements the books they use at school, find teachers that are independent and advertise the work you create.
Create price lists and share examples of your work.
PowerPoint is your best friend.
10/ Remember,
teaching English isn’t the only way to teach online, don’t focus so narrowly
Take a skill you have, mathematics, science and run with it. You have a global audience now.
And talent is easily accessed now with the internet.
11/ What this isn’t ?
It’s not something that’s going to fall in your lap, and it certainly isn’t going to happen over night.
This isn’t an industry that rewards laziness, and it certainly isn’t a way to make quick cash.
12/ Just like anything, you’ll have to put in the grind and start at the bottom and probably start off earning much less than other experienced teachers.
But this thread shows you how you can expedite the process, so you can start making some $$$$
13/ Remember,
these students won’t fall into your lap, and it won’t be easy.
You’ll need to be ready,
• Have demo lessons you can send to them,
• Free courseware that they can study from
• Incentives
• Payment system to use
• Platform to teach from
That’s it, that’s the tweet.

With all this chaos and turmoil, it’s still 10% down Year to Date.
Only once #Bitcoin decouples from Traditional Finance , that is when the party will start.
Only keep nibbling in dips, now wouldn’t be the time to go all in.
With that being said,
We’ve seen the power of decentralized and permission-less systems
Ask any Russian who bought Bitcoin before their currency started imploding-they’ve effectively protected their energy by buying BTC, and are able to move it across borders upon their exit
Their is a battle between major power elites taking place.
There are many things we don’t understand.
•SWIFT systems
•euro dollar shadow banking system, •leverage
•liquidity
•dollar reserve status
We don’t know what challenging the existing status quo will be like
