@Kasparov63 Gary, YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG AND YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. I believe @jensstoltenberg @NATO & @POTUS are preparing a crushing response. But they cannot fight in Ukraine under NATO’s vital peace-banner to support Zelenskiy’ government unless Ukraine becomes part @NATO .

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS That being said given that #Putin invaded Ukraine in order to prevent it from joining NATO, what have we NOW got to loose by making it part of NATO? That in itself is NOT an act of violent aggression, DESPITE WHAT USSR and Russia would have us believe since the end of WW2

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS Same is true for countries all along Russia’s borders that wish to join NATO and have wanted to for SO long. Instead of holding back for fear of aggression, as that Russian agression has already occurred why not support freedom to self-determination of these countries NOW?

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS Indeed, there is yet another meaning we can attribute to @AVindman beautiful sentence “Here [INTERNATIONAL] Right [ie LAW] Matters”. As far as I understand we would not be acting illegally in this but WE WOULD THEN BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY AND LEGALLY SAVE UKRAINE FROM PUTIN’S GRIP.

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS @AVindman So Gary I agree with you that if we don’t want to watch shamefully while Putin ransacks Ukraine completely in next few days/weeks despite all the aid we send (and knowing he could press the nuclear button at ANY time towards them and simply just flatten it).

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS @AVindman If current peace talks don’t yield near immediate results, our next step can only be enlargement of @NATO (I assume the prudent @jensstoltenberg already has that paperwork ready for all countries mentioned?!). It is legal, timely (overdue !), simple and not directly aggressive.

@Kasparov63 @jensstoltenberg @NATO @POTUS @AVindman BUT IT WILL DIRECTLY THREATEN #PUTIN WITH THE FULL MIGHT OF THE WESTERN FREEDOM ALLIANCE. If doesn’t then immediately sign a cease-fire with @ZelenskyyUa, WE CAN AT LEAST LEGALLY HELP UKRAINE DIRECTLY. Like you Gary, I don’t think we now have any other ethical choice left.
