historically, #fascism deceptively uses economic liberalism (ie unregulated free markets) as a replacement for & rebuke of political liberalism (ie democracy).
it opposes any encroachment of the latter on the terrain of the former--ie anywhere.
because it opposes democracy tout court. that's #fascism's core commitment: democracy is evil.
anytime someone talks about government being evil, or "organized crime," it's important to remember this about fascism.
it's deceptive because what this turns into, once you've boiled down the idea into its core, is "might makes right."
which is despite the importance of them/us politics, at the core of most theories of fascism.
the long history of claiming to champion free markets--but which comes down to "i got mine, fuck you"--in the name of denying democratic rights, civil rights & egalitarianism is all over the critical literature, e.g. amzn.to/3vAVJK2#libertarianism
libertarians almost always claim to have a better way of securing human rights than democracy.
the "better way" is unregulated free markets.
which inevitably becomes concentrated economic power that trumps other power.
& "civil rights" only for those with economic power
