🚨🚨 It is estimated that between 80% to 90% of children aged 8 to 11 in England have antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the specific virus that causes #Covid19.

➡️ Government should offer antibody tests for children for parents considering vaccines Image
Data here -> ons.gov.uk/releases/coron…

8 year olds estimate - 81.5%
Age 9 - 84.3%
Age 10 - 87.0%
Age 11 - 89.3%

Data comes from a survey of children where blood samples are taken.
My recent blog talks through the JCVI data in their statement on vaccines for 5 to 11 year olds.

They reaffirmed Covid is very low risk to children.

Over the Omicron wave there have been far less people in critical care with Covid, and recently less than 40% of the patients in critical care with the virus are in primarily for the virus.

The majority are in critical care for another primary reason but have the virus.
The total number of patients in critical care over the winter period for any reason has been lower than some of the years pre-pandemic.

💥 Coercion not appearing to work
They are removing many restrictions this week but a decision was postponed on the issue of Austria's controversial vaccine mandate, the only one to be imposed for the adult population as a whole by a Western democracy.

🚨🚨 Chair of the British Medical Association Council - ‘At the moment we have 50% more people in hospital than we had when Plan B was announced’

FACT CHECK

➡️ Since Omicron more in patients in hospital with Covid but not for it. Accounting for this, 7% less, not 50% more.

These statistics relate to patients with Covid in hospital. You can see in this chart that since Omicron we have seen more patients in hospital with Covid but not primarily because of it.
Also the number in hospital on ventilated beds, a more important metric is the lowest since early July.
