2/9 Russia demands #Ukraine cedes 7.2% of its land.

What would that look like if the tables were turned? That's equivalent to 🇷🇺 ceding its Central (incl. Moscow), Southern & North Caucasian Districts (pale yellow, pink & purple zones on the left of the map).

They'd say NIET!

3/9 Ceding 7.2% of territory is equivalent to the US 🇺🇸 being forced to cede 707,000 km2, i.e. all of:
California
New York
South Carolina
Massachusetts!

Would the US ever agree to that? Hell no!

Were Pakistan or China ever to demand such a concession, would they agree? Obviously not—it would be preposterous.

7/9 I hope this helps put Russia's demands of Ukraine into more context.

And these territorial demands are only the start: 🇷🇺 is also demanding 🇺🇦's complete demilitarisation—after Russia's just shown what a violently aggressive neighbour it is!

🇺🇦could obviously never agree.

8/9 Finally, #Russia demands #Ukraine never joins the UE or NATO.

🇺🇦is a sovereign nation—no other country has the right to decide its future.

This all shows that the Russian "peace talks" are a sham, with deliberately impossible demands while they continue to destroy 🇺🇦.

The calculations of equivalent land masses for each of these five illustrative country are within 1% of the proportion of Ukraine's land that Crimea, Donetsk & Luhansk amount to.
