2/ 42 African states negotiated and voted to adopt the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in 2017:

3/ To date, 10 African states have become parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons:

6/ In January 2021, the chairperson of the @_AfricanUnion hailed the entry into force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons as “a welcome contribution towards realising global peace and security through nuclear disarmament”.
