Today, I have an overdue, but nonetheless EPIC story to tell…

My story begins in fear, anger, and raw depression… 🧵 👇👇👇

11 days ago, March 2nd, 2022, started off like a typical wednesday morning. I was driving my 2 oldest elementary aged kids to school. 🚙

As usual, we were jamming out and singing along to the Pokémon theme song 🎶 (their current fav). Just enjoying being their fun dad ❤️

After dropping them off and finally arriving at my office parking lot, I did what any true all-in #NFT art loving Degen would do… 🤷🏻‍♂️

I opened discord to drop some love and GMs on my frens!

At first, all seemed well… as expected, there was no FUD in the @LITWTF and @xmfers discords (I mention these 2 communities for a big reason, as they both play a key role in my story) ❤️‍🔥

Overall, the vibes were lit 🔥 and it was another great day to be a degen!

But then I hopped into another discord where I am an NFT holder and for some reason I’ve lost my holder status 👀 🙇🏻‍♂️

At first I thought, “oh that’s odd, maybe I need to reverify with the Collab-Land bot?” So I reconnect my wallet and still no role…

And then, the fear sets in… 😟 as I sit there in my car in the parking lot outside my office, I open up my wallet to see that not only is my entire wallet drained of nearly all my NFTs, but I also have a zero balance on my crypto 😮

About $50k…nearly all I had…gone… 🙆🏻‍♂️

At this point, I didn’t know what to do… I was emotionally dead inside, hopeless and full of disbelief. I am a grown ass man and all I wanted to do was cry and scream. $50k may not be a big investment for a crypto whale, but for me it was soul crushing 😭

At this point I did the only thing I could think to do, I reached out to my #LITizen and #Xmfer frens for help. I tracked down the hacker’s wallet & posted it all over discord and Twitter hoping to stop my NFTs from being sold, it was painful to watch 👨🏻‍💻 etherscan.io/address/0xb452…

I hopped on voice chat in the #Degenaissance discord and while still in shock I shared what had just happened… discord.gg/DYeGEGcT

What happened next is where this story gets truly EPIC and may be hard to believe… 🔥

While the #crypto / #Web3 community may have its share of scammers and rug-pullers, the kindness and generosity I’ve experienced over the last 10 days is unlike any I’ve experienced before

#LITizens I’ve only recently “met” thru discord sent ETH to help me move the few NFTs the hacker had left behind to a new wallet. They sent me $LIT so I could keep my access to the discord 🔥 They GIFTED me incredible #LIT NFTs to replace some of the ones I just had stolen!!! 👀

If it had stopped there I would have already had my faith in humanity fully restored, but of course soon after our faithful #Litizen leader @0xPamplemousse was posting on my behalf to @BiancaMedici69 (aka @Sia) in an effort to help me rebuild my collection with some new art 🖼

Within days of #LITfam brother @FrankieDTankie incredibly gifting me a replacement copy of LIT Project One, “Survive All Apocalypses” — a first of its kind NFT book by best selling author and fellow LITizen @neilstrauss —this happens 👀

Are you freaking kidding me?!?! I mean I just got GIFTED an NFT book that very likely is going to be turned into a TV show?! I can hardly find the words to describe how incredible this is, so I’ll let the man himself @FrankieDTankie’s words speak for me in this case:

I’m not typically one to ape into derivative projects, but have you seen these @XCOPYART inspired #Mfers?!? They are 🔥

So of course I was majority bummed to see that the hacker has stolen all 20+ of these sexy beasts and sent them off to be auctioned to the lowest bidder:

Of course I’m not at all surprised that they were snatched up quick off the floor, but what blew me away is that several #XMfers TRACKED ME DOWN to return my stolen NFTs, many not asking for ANYTHING in return! 👀
