Well done @MForstater for revealing exactly what is going on. It is now for others to ask themselves if this is a road that it is safe to go down - where one group’s assertions about reality define it for everyone else

This is a serious question requiring serious thought. Because the amount of energy and time you will need to spend dealing with those who reject one conception of ‘reality’ will be immense. There will be many court cases.

And you wont be able to confine this approach to simply issues around ‘gender identity’. Those to whom you give the power to redefine reality will use it. For any issue they wish. Poster refers to @MForstater as ‘Sue’ - assume means ‘she’ but who knows any more?

Thank you to @tribunaltweets for playing such a crucial role in open justice and allowing wide dissemination of what is going on. I am proud to be part of your group. A light needs to be shone on all of this.

If this is the road we, as a society, really wish to go down, then it has to be done with full knowledge of exactly where it leads, and full acceptance of the harm this will do to all dissenters. Maybe some think that’s a price worthy paying. I don’t.

And I am not alone in feeling a sense or horror and revulsion about where this leads. History and literature are heaving with examples

On discovering what Wiltshire police had unlawfully recorded against my name I felt a small shiver of how it must have felt for East Germans to look upon their Stasi files. Happily for all of us we still live in a country with the rule of law.

But we can’t take it for granted. The capture of lawyers and politicians is a clear warning sign. The conflict is now drawn very clearly. If you don’t pick a side - then you have picked a side. Inertia is not an option when the stakes are so high.
