Tennessee HB2316 was recommended for passage by the Education Administration subcommittee. This bill would prohibit “males” from participating in public higher education sports that are designated for “females”
TN HB2835 was placed on the Health subcommittee for 3/22. This bill would ban all trans-affirming medical care for minors. It also prevents any state funds from being given to insurance companies that cover trans-affirming medical care for anyone.
TN HB2633 was recommended to pass and ref to Finance, Ways, + Means committee. This bill states that a public school may not require a teacher or other employee to use a pronoun in reference to a student other than the pronoun that corresponds to the student’s “biological sex”.
TN HB0800 was recommended to pass and referred to Education Instruction Committee. This bill prohibits textbooks from recommending or listing any instructional materials that promote, normalize, support, or address lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, or transgender issues or lifestyles.
TN HB2153 + SB2777 have a Senate Education Committee hearing on 3/23 at 1pm CST. Both are on their respective Committee calendars for 3/16 and are sports bills banning "male" students from "female" sports based on their birth certificate.
Moving past Tennessee, Kentucky SB83 had an amendment posted and is moving to the Senate. This is an anti-trans sports bill that would ban "biological males" from girls sports. "Biological sex" is not defined in any way, leaving open wide legal gaps for sexual abuse of children.
Finally, Kansas HB2662 passed the House K-12 education Committee. This bill establishes a "parents bill of rights" which would allow parents to inspect all school curriculum and challenge the value of any material in the school library.

In some brilliant news, the Wisconsin bills AB195, AB196, AB977, SB323, and SB915 have all been killed due to the legislative session ending! We have timed them out, and they lost their window!
Another Bill, ID HB675 is also dead in the Senate!! 🎉🎉🎉This was a bill attempting to outlaw transition-related care for minors, declaring such practices as "genital mutilation".

Florida HB211 was indefinitely postponed, meaning this bill is now DEAD! 🎉 This bill would have banned all trans-affirming medical care for minors. This officially removes Florida from our list of active states!

Kentucky SB83 has passed the House education committee. This bill is an anti-trans sport bill that would divide athletic participation by "biological sex". How this would be determined is not stated, leaving room for abuse of rules and students.
Kentucky HB23 has returned to the Rules Committee, thus the bill has been delayed. This is another sports bills banning children from sporting events based "biological sex". It also would require medical examinations under the penalty of perjury to "prove" their "biological sex"

New Hampshire HB1077 has been given an unfavorable report by the Committee! This means the bill is effectively dead! This bill would have repealed the prohibition on conversion therapy for minors, and its defeat is a great victory!!
Mississippi HB1099 is also Dead!! This bill would have prevented any currently incarcerated person from filing a name change petition or being granted a legal name change without intervention from a higher authority.

To start us off with some good news in this depressing reality, Wyoming SF0051 failed!! 🎉This was another anti-trans sports bill that would ban "biological males" from girls sports.
New Jersey A3209 has been introduced and referred to the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee. This would require DOC to assign transgender inmate to the correctional facility based on inmate's gender identity, and use their preferred pronouns.

Unfortunately, Florida H1557 has passed. This is the famous "Don't Say Gay" bill that prohibits classroom discussions about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary schools. Our hearts go out to those whose education shall be so damaged.
